Disk Brake Help!

I don't have disk brakes, but would'nt some white spirits clean them? Just like you clean tar off your rim that 'should' work.

After you've got all the dirt and stuff off just give them a quick wipe with a damp rag and let them dry.

White spirit is basically a pure alcohol cleaner and I am pretty sure it does not have an oil base like paint thinner (correct me if I am wrong). Because of this it will be fine, I personally use cheap nail varnish remover and it works well.

White spirit is oil based!!!

Note how it smells like WD40 and spray oils.

clean the rotor in water a washing up liquid for as long as you can.

nail varnish remover will probably work :).

My mate already said, i simply use sandpaper for the pads and rotor and apply some pressure when doing it to give the rotor and unsmooth surface, this will ensure it's clean.

Once re-fitted all clean use the brake just on your front for a few mins to make sure it's biting again. it works for me and one of my pads was really bad on the rear!

there's also baking the pads but MEH i have never tried and dont intend to.

james.
