BenLeacock™
Right guys, i've got a piece of work i've done on my mac on microsoft for mac. I've saved it as a mac format, on my external hard drive, before i wiped my comp. I haven't got my microsoft for mac cd as I lend it to a mate, but i really need this file saving as a word for pc file to hand in tomorrow. Is there ANY chance someone could change the format if I send them the document, I mean id be so grateful. Or is there any way I could do it myself ? Any help would be much appreciatedThank you

Danny
It was a docx and the pc only had word 2003.Installing this http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en gives 2003 support for the new 2007 formats.Oh and openoffice 3 now supports em all as standard
Tomm
Yup the files are the same. The only thing would be if the version of Office:mac was newer than the PC one - then it's possible that the file won't work on the old PC version. M-i-t-c-h
download openofficeyou will never use microsoft office again, java based so works cross platform. You can load and save as nearly ever format possible.
Tomm
Whilst I do love the idea of open source stuff, I don't think Open Office is better than MS Office. Yet. I'm sure it will be, and it's definitely an alternative, but it's still a bit fussy with file types (It didn't like my Word files because they had frames in them). Tomm
Er no? It's too basic for any kind of serious writing, and incompatible with everything else.
