shamus
if he needs a trouser that breathes, shinnys that keep you warm aren't really ideal. some of the DH/freeride pants out there are designed for hot climates. however sometimes they have built in armour which is kinda pointless.i'd say if jeans are too much then maybe cargo/combats they are much lighter and more breathable but can look a little odd lol.hope it helps

Jake Beach
I wear shorts and shin pads. Most people wear tracksuit bottoms.
Captain Scarlet
I had a habit of wearing shorts everytime I rode last year (hot or cold).Personal favourite are shorts, like elasticated swim shorts (move really well in those).Don't like wearing trackies (unless im in a stupidly muddy competition), just don't look appealing to me.Skinny jeans and slim fitting jeans are also good, because the hems around the ankles are smaller, and don't have to worry about them getting caught in the freewheel like normal jeans. sstein
shorts + shin pads keeps your legs warm tooThe way forward brother.Loose jeans are also alright. I ocassionaly wear cargo pants but they tend to catch in the rear wheel.
