Krisboats
Krisboats is winning on the coolness and power front i think though :$ Mines only a modest system, i'm sure there's people on here with better machines than I.krisboats computer wow! i dont no anything about them but looks smart as lol, since when do computers have neons is it? They've been available for a long time, mine were only in a few weeks ago though. They're nice and cheap too, about £8 for both of them including delivery.Another image from before the cable tidying session that i had tonight. Si-man
I have dust filters on all my in fans, 4 ins, 2 outs, all 120mm. And my PSU is not modular so I have this chunk of cable covering the bottom fan hole and will get cramped when I get my second GTX 260. I have to dust my insides out soon, fine dust still gets through the filters. I haven't seen the nvidia version with 2 side fans, show me!I mean mine has 2 side fans, one for graphics, one for CPU. Could easily modify it to have a green panel in though.
Wrayvon
Anyone fancy shedding some light for me? I can't decide between two monitors. 23"or 24"Ideally i'd like to spend as little as possible (obviously). But can anyone justify spending the extra for that extra 1 inch?I do some gaming, watch a fair few films, and do fair bit of web design etc. Thanks
Si-man
What GPU you got? That is better just costs abit more. Has a bloody mental contrast ratio and a fast response time. Id have one if i had a job still. If you can stretch to it, get it. Edited December 29, 2008 by Si-man

Si-man
Both good, just depends if you want 23 or 24 inch. 23 sounds like a weird size though.

Muel
Can someone with a set-up similar to Krisboats run that Pi 1M thingy? Running something like an E2220 or an E5200 with 2gb of RAM? I'm planning on replacing most of my computer at some point next year, but I'm wondering whether it's worth going to the next level and getting an E8600 with 4gb of RAM, or possibly going DDR3?At the moment my current set-up got 1min 17 on the Pi 1M test, and I don't really have a problem with it's speed to be honest, but it would be nice to get it under 30 seconds or so. I don't play games really, just a lot of watching videos and listening to music.
Wrayvon
I agree, it is a very nice monitor! But I cannot afford that much i'm afraid! So out of the two, which would you choose? I do believe they have different contrast ratios, this could be the deciding factor, but I really don't know which would suit me best, or if either are more superior. Grr! Si-man
I'd go for the 24". Theres something about the resolution and the aspect ratio that dont seem right with the 23"I know its 22", but its a bloody good monitor for a decent price. Fast response time of 2ms, contrast ratio is 20,000:1 and it has a hdmi socket which could come in handy in the future. Hendrix
I haven't cleaned my PC in years. I should probably unplug it and do that in a couple of days, then post photos.
Si-man
Looks abit more presentable now. Took ages to tidy up all the cables. Might go for a black coat on the inside of the case next aswell as a UV green side panel which will be made soon.

manuel
wowthis thread is even more geeky than bikes with no seats...surely a pc needs to be a black box out of the way and tidy - not a big neon spacecraft ?Oh and mine can calculate pi to 1000000 dps in a lame 42 seconds. Time for i7 ps I took this on my phone so sorry for the poor quality ...

But if I'm spending all this time building it and getting it working I want to be able to see it! Only 1 dvd drive? Surely that makes copying discs a bit long winded?
