Skoze
If it's a standard hg spline then yes, if it's a screw-on, then no (unless the hub's threaded) etc etcUtilise some common sense
Jack Chinnery
Yeah, now you mention it, I am a little bit confused.Doesn't he mean will they screw on?Lol, Does he mean will it fit onto the cranks ???/
Sidehop Stuart
I'm not sure if it's a chain ring or sprocket he's talking about.Although he has mentioned sprocket. When he reads his topic, he'll make clear to use what he means. Connor Powell
Lol, Does he mean will it fit onto the cranks ???/Stop using spoiler in every post. Its boring. If your using a bmx sprocket on your mtb, Aslong as the cranks are 3-peice and the bolt holes are the same place and align then you should be fine. tris
You can run BMX front sprockets on a MTB. The thing is you must have BMX cranks, which are usually thick and quite heavy. Also BMX cranks have a pinch bolt which holds the sprocket to the crank arm. When running BMX cranks you'll have to get a BB that fits it. Some You can get ISIS BMX cranks so that would work. Most BMX bikes have an 8 or 48 spline BB. And these BB's will not fit your bike. I think profile make a BB that fits a MTB and runs BMX cranks. So the consensus is: If you want to run a BMX sprocket, you will need BMX cranks as well. You will need a new BB, (an ISIS will be ok if you get ISIS BMX cranks) otherwise you'll need a Profile BB for a MTB that lets you run BMX cranks. Not really worth it IMO.And onza-t-veeriderjack stop using that bloody thing. It doesn't make you cool. And you're not using it properly.

Dekes
Hello, doesnt matter now ive got bmx sort of cranks on 3 piece cranks, So it should fit thanks anyway if i mixed anyone's minds up.All right thenBottom line is that you have different interfaces for different cranks. You need a Euro BB if you want to run BMX cranks on your trials bike. The BB often comes with the crank, if not, make sure you've got matching axle size and inner diameter size of your BB bearings (19, 20 or 22mm depending on the brand of bmx cranks you have).Mtb cranks generally have 4-bolt, 5-bolt CD or 5 bolt ATB chainring interfaces. For trials you need either a 4 bolt or 5 bolt CD cranks, 5 bolt ATB is almost only used in DH to properly run 46-50t chainrings.BMX cranks have 1 bolt chainring interfaces, the chainring itself also rests on the axle. You can only run as little as 25t.The best thing you might do, if you have BMX cranks with 19mm (3/4") axle and want to run a 20-22t front sprocket, is buy the Betd Goldtech trials bashguard (see pic)http://www.mountainbikecomponents.co.uk/it...le+3pc.+Cranks+ Edited December 26, 2008 by Dekes
