odakyu
How do you straighten a bent rotor?I couldn't find any sharp bent but it is obvious that it is not totally flat
Mtchell
Unless you own a perfectly flat road and a steam roller you could always try a rotor truing fork .Truing fork
Skoze
Adjustable spanner
Jason222
I was told that you can tru a rotor by going really fast down a hill and applying the brake for quite a distance. I'm not sure how true this is, but it came from a reliable source... Edited December 22, 2008 by Jason222
Sidehop Stuart
I would just usually buy a new rotor. Although now I've seen this topic I may purchase a rotor truing fork.

Someone's made of money...If/when i bend rotors, all it takes is a tweak or two with an adjustable spanner - really not hard to sort out. Sidehop Stuart
Nope I'm not made of money. I wish. Just with money from selling old parts really I normally find a few good bargains off friends.

Skoze
so i should try to bend the rotor with the rotor mounted on the hub?Yes, otherwise what's gonna hold it in place?I just get an adjustable spanner, make it fit the rotor nicely, find where the rotor is bent and tweak it in the opposite direction. then spin the wheel again, and keep repeating this until it is as straight as you can get it
Jake Beach
Just use an adjustable spanner. Not worth shedding out the cash for a special tool. Edited December 22, 2008 by Jake Beach
Jordan GU
When I bent my rotor I put it on a flat surface, where I could see it was bent I hit it with a mallet and it straightend.Don't hit it to hard that it cracks!.

Andrew Willis
You could always move the pads closer so there touching the disc ride it and then it will warp back in to its position with the heat then just take the pads off the disc again

odakyu
anyway, this is the first time i am using dual disc. I have been having a hard setting up the brakes! I was using HS33 all the time and it didn't give me any problems setting it up....the main reason why i am switching to disc is because i had enough of slipped brake pads...this has given me enough injuries
___RD_
Im not sure if this is true but if you put it over a hob on a cooker it staightens the rotor.
