The day the earth stood still

Entertainment 4/5 Does the purpose of entertaining nothing special though

Acting 3/5 Keanu Reeves was playing a human alien and was pretty much emotionless throughout

Effects 5/5 Effects were excellent and wernt overused

Storyline 3/5 Alien/human(keanu reeves) says we dont own the earth and says that we are not treating it right, small battle. all ends happily ever after!

At first the film starts like war of the worlds and then it comes into something of its own with an alien thats in a humans body. Its quite thrilling although some points you think something is going to jump up and scare the hell out of you but it never does. so it could be a bit more scary then again it is a 12a.

Overall I would recommend seeing this film as it is entertaining.

I've seen it as well, i think if you watch him carefully throughout the film he's very emotionless at the beginning... but there's a certain humanity that he manages to begin to portray slightly throughout the film. Being as he took on a human form i thought it was quite good how the slight of emotions began to show through as he'd begun to experience feelings like compassion for himself. like the bit where he's altering the equations on the board and when the woman told him not to touch it he gave a little smile and said "he won't mind" :D.

I thought the effects were pretty good too, those nasty little robo-bugs weren't cool though, made me itch in my seat.

Very good film though i liked it a lot, even if i did spend a lot of it biting my lip in frustration at that annoying presidential speaker woman  if i was there i'd have slapped her and told her to stop being such a tool.

As I said, it isn't a dig, but I thought there was already a topic...

Sorry, Sir

To get this topic back on track..

Cliff Hanger

Entertainment 3/5, Petty good film, pretty typical late 80-s/early 90's action film

Acting 3/5, Again, the fact it's an older film diminishes any sort of decent acting, from the likes of Sly Stalone, the action are over dramatized an the language is typical action hero

Effects 4/5, Got to give it a high mark really, there is no massive effects in it to be fair, mainly pyrotechnics, but there good so I'll have to score high

Storyline 4/5, Following 2 Mountain rescue rangers as there kidnapped to help find money dumped on top of mountains by a few daring theifs.

Comments - Don't go into this expecting a massive blockbuster, and remember this is a pretty old film! Although it is quite enjoyable :)

World Trade Center

Entertainment 4/5 Was a good film, could of been a bit faster paced though.

Acting 5/5 Great actors, great backround actors too.

Effects 5/5 Really good effects, used some real footage too

Storyline 5/5 Was about the events of 9/11 following the day of two fire fighters in NYC

Comment: Couldnt be better... shame its a real event although its well produced. Definately worth a watch... inda slow paced though!

Was an alright film. Not what i expected though. I expected alittle more about the plane attacks and stuff.

Viewed The Day the Earth Stood Still on IMAX format. Film was weak in terms of the story and alien threat compared to the original version or simular big scale movies like Independance Day. Special effects was again weak in terms of size and scale, even though watching HD cinema was mindblowing picture quality and crystal clear sound. Can't wait to see the next Terminator movie in january. One thing i will say about watching in imax is that it reveals cgi flaws which would not be noticeable via watching the grainy picture quality of regular cinema.

There wasn't supposed to be an alien threat though, he was a messenger and he was delivering and ultimatum. Having coliseums and entire villages ripped apart in an instant wasn't a big enough scale?

the day the earht stood still

Entertainment 4/5 depends on what kind of person you are, if you dont like thinking then youll think its crap :) but its really like... shit this could really happen... obviously if that tech was available or what ever. so pretty serious film

Acting 5/5 dont think there were any parts where i thought... hmm that baddddddd acting haha so yea, top notch

Effects 5/5 nothing over the top, it all looked good and real enough.... ddnt ever think like oh my god that looks sooo fake haha like with a lot of well over animated crap.

Storyline 4/5 okay, its simple but very real and nice... no bullshit like stupid sex scenes or stupid long unrealistic fights etc this is how it could happen and very real feeling... makes you think... but if you like yeeeaa sexxxxxx, big bangss and explosions woooooo (a bit simple) then dont bother, go see transporter 3 instead.
