mattyboi
"cutout things" on the rims Also known as drilled rims, yes they are strong but I would recommend the Echo rims.Matt
Julius Czar
There not weak at all, as long as you get a decent rim, (echo, viz) etc. And a good build, they're fine. hope this helps,Kiwi.

Hallett
drilled rims are fine, if ther round cut outs, square, onza hedgehog shape lol its cut out of a part of the rim that doesnt affect the strength that much. it would take some serious stick to break any of em realy.i would personaly recomend Try-all or Trialtech rims. Dan S
How do you think? If a magnesium DOB rim (rear) with a lot of big holes take a 2m drop, are ALU srilled rims any good?surely they are strong. Sidehop Stuart
I've always use drilled rims, I've had no problems with them being weak and they weigh less
Mtchell
Answers No,As we trials riders drop great hieghts we need a strong wheels , yes?Yes,So a wheel which is well built is fine,But a rim with holes creates a rib effect has well improved structural characteristics in terms of damage tolerance, And lighter which in our sport is needed. Dan6061
Those 06 Echo rims were seriously weak though, the newer 07 ones are much stronger, and I beleieve the new TR ones (I think) are the same, but with a new name.Drilled rims are fine strength-wise. Sidehop Stuart
As you can see ... my gold echo 06 did not put up with an 6 step drop gap (pedal hop 6 steps)
Connor Powell
Just Echoing ( ba boom Tshh) What everyone else has said. Drilled rims are fine strength wise, Apart from echo 06 rims which were terrible for snapping. Echo 07 are tough as old boots. Thing you want to look for is how well rims hold a grind. Echo 07 are great for strength and amazing at holding grinds. Try-all rims are fine in strength but not so great at holding a grind, So when you grind it more you going to loose strength. Ross McArthur
Does single walling rims weaken them loads? Or is it not too bad.....Regardless of how amazing the wheel build is?
