Sidehop Stuart
I used a Hayes mx2 on the front ages ago and it worked very well.I'm sure they'll work just as good on the rear
forteh
I tried a bb7 on the rear and it was shocking, reasonable bite but zero hold. It was bedded in properly but was only a 185 disk (couldnt fit a 203 in the frame) but no matter what I did it wouldnt hold.Went back to magura, its lighter and works better on the rear.Im sure that someone may have used a bb7 successfully on the rear of a stock, but for me it didnt work. Skoze
I ran a 200mm hope on the rear of mine, was absolutely awesome! It slipped occasionally, but only when i seriously missed something.BB7s are great on the front, not so much on the back - for me you get no response from them, and it just feels a bit dead. For the price of a new BB7, you could get a second hand Mono Trial easily! faith
unfortunatley not for the price i would get it for lol i idealy dont want 2 difrent leavers so may go for a frame i can fit full magies to or a avid v on the rear to go with the bb7 front
Skoze
They do work well on the rear, just i personally don't like the on/off braking, a bit of modulation is always nice!
ilikeriding
good because it doesnt matter if you bend your front wheel but bad because theyere verry flexxy although they are really powerful when set up right
Jitters
Now you guys have me wondering.Mentioned in a post a while back I was getting a set of Avid discs for my stock build for doing some freelance art for a company. Believe it's the Juicy 7s. Suggestions mentioned I should consider 203mm rotors front/rear. I like the on/off type braking, personally, but should I reconsider? They may be a bit more like the Mono Trial than the BB7 (because they're hydraulic, obviously) a bit of modulation on the rear isn't a problem, but you can easily set the brake up for on/off braking if you really want to (or just pull the lever a bit harder/faster like i do )I just find that hydro can feather a hydro brake, whereas big cable discs are far hearder to do that with. Jitters
Well, I'll be the test subject then. It'll take me a while to get the project done, but will report the results when the time comes. thanks for the input Skoze!
El Cristoff
I have a BB7 on the rear of my 24UK and i love it. Holds well, nice amount of modulation, bites great. I would really recommend it
PaRtZ
On a mod they are fine, but on your stock, no no no!Although they work and can work ok, maguras/vee's are much better and reliable, so go with them. On the front though 203mm wil be the dogs bollocks
