MadManMike
Instant reaction: beef up the drums. Are you using built in drums?A little trick I've learnt is to add a little echo to the snare, use a punchier snare too - your current one sounds too weak. The bass needs something extra too, maybe some real deep sub running underneath it.The track itself isn't bad, just needs more to it (I'm still learning too...) Fixed Pants™
Pretty good that. Totally agree with Mike though, needs some oomph. And then it'll be pretty awesome.
Danny Metcalfe
I built my own drums.I added a BD kick to the roll to try make it more bassy but it is a slow kick so it doesn't seem as punchy, But my moniters are sh1t so hard to get any sub freuency responseand for the snare, What do you think to a little hat roll, maybe stereo pan?Could work well with the reverse clap. This is my first dubstep track, I'll post my more recent tracks tonight (at school atm), Got some more "wobbley" drops, and builds.Does anybody know anything about Massiv VSTi Through FL Studio?I've heard its prettty good for dubstep.Bassline and House is more my Forte for producing, But I thought i might try something a little different. Hendrix
I've got a load of kicks and snares you can have to stick in a sampler. Really top notch ones, pre mix'd and compressed so no worries about trying to get them punchy.PM me if you want me to upload some.
MadManMike
The thing I can't grasp - hi hats / cymbals. When I put them in my house or trance tracks it all sounds a bit mid 90's. REALLY annoying.

REALLY annoying.+1In my opinion drums are the hardest thing to make in a track, bass and melodies I can, but as soon as drums are added in everything just failsssssss. What program you using then meki? Jed
Haven't listened to the track yet, will edit when I do. I also have a lot of dubstep samples and drum/synth/bass sounds if you want them?Edit: Sounds pretty good, what program you running? Bass is a bit weedy for dubstep to be honest, maybe keep that bass and get a heavier bass to come in over the top? Also compress those drums! Hendrix
Drum sounds; how to stop them sounding crap.Hi Pass Filter is a start; google a free plug in if you already haven't got one.EQ Carefully; 6 band EQ would do well on a d&b mixand finally.Compress, Compress, Compress, Compress, Don't take my word for it though, some of my mix's are naaafffff.
