203 Rotor + Urbans + Bb7 = Fork Snappage?

It's because people haven't learnt to position there body over the front end more. They rely on pure wheel lock on them drop gaps to front :o

It's really not surprising. Unless you feel you can't perform the move without a pure wheel lock up then go with 185mm like you say. Or 160mm even, i've seen that a few times on stock now.

I ran a 160mm disk on a set of echo Urbans and the fork snapped anyway after 8 months. I do weigh over 90kg though. The ones with the Magura mount on the back of the fork are very prone to failure, snapping through the top of the brake mounts on the back of the fork. If you're getting Urbans, get V mounts or no rim brake mounts at all (Not sure if that's available), not Magura mounts. I replaced with steel Onza forks, at least they'll hopefully give me some warning before snapping and dumping me on the ground.

actually its the adapter that rapes the forks, find a pair with +30 or +20 adapter mounts and use a smaller adapter. ive been through loads of urbans and zoos, but with the +30 atomz they have lasted ageeeeeeeees

I think it is more to do with the fact that the disc mount on the Atomz forks is ALOT better than the one on echo forks, as the mount is extended further up the forks, spreading the forces from the disc over a larger area.

Given mine snapped through both legs at the same time and the crack started on the back of the legs, presumably because the peak load on the forks was vertically from my weight rather than from the odd front hop or wheel swap, the disk mount design may not be what you need to worry about :P... Other forks I've broken have also cracked at the back of the fork legs about level with the brake mounts though the brake mount location didn't act as a stress riser in the case of these forks - they also gave loads of warning thanks to being steel...

Almost all of the newer echo forks that i have had, al be it over 18months ago all cracked at either the top of the disc mount, or in the case of urbans they were also known to crack where the weld holding the dropout onto the bottom of the fork leg had been ground off to much.
