Revolver
Position your tensioner so it is tensioning up, and take out the spring, that normally tensions down, and instead, use a cable tie to pull the tensioner up.Genius idea, I think. Dan81
I just tried pushing the tensioner up with the chain over the wheel instead of under (as if to simulate having upwards tension) and its crap - I can see how it'll wrap the rear cog a lot more but the chains really slack (even when the tensioners right against the frame). Skoze
Can you take any links out?If notm try a double wheel tensioner, or a locked out/ cable tied mech

An old mech would do.
Dan81
Ive seen a 74Kingz used upwards without all the slack though? An old mech would look crap....and to me misses the point. Surely other people use fixed or single wheel sprung tensioners without all this shit. All I want is the chain not to skip, you'd think single speed would be easier.Might ride a bit more on it just low gaps and see if I can get a link out the chain. Can a rolhoff work with a wide chain? Dan81
People are suggesting different things and Im assuming its the tensioner but I appreciate everyones help - its a tw@ to ride when its skipping all the time. What do you use to space the rohloff then? N.Wood
A washer either side of each jockey wheel.
