mike137
Hi all,I recently bought a pair of Echo control '07 forks from tartys (highly recomended). The problem i am having is that after i land on an object with the brakes on, and release the front brake, the forks seem to spring back about 15mm. Is this normal? Also, are these forks good for a beginner (like me) who is going to have a few rough landings etc or, are they more a fork for folk who land gentle?thanksMike Edited December 3, 2008 by mike137
Simpson
Fork flex isn't normal at all.... you sure your headsets fine?

Adam Fisher
Headset is fine, forgot to mention that they are for 26 inch wheels.Still it shouldn't flex at all.
RossMcd
might be a dodgy pair. pull your front brake and rock your bike back and forth to see how much it is flexing.I was gonna ask the same question as my zoo forks seem to have a bit of flex in them as well
Cookyboy
couple inch left or right is no problem
RossMcd
couple inch left or right is no problemThats like snapping point if they flex that much!! couple of inch is huge for flex!
Dan6061
Don't forget that when you brake, your tyre's also getting squashed a bit, which feels like flex, plus brake pad movement...
RossMcd
I can visually see my forks flexing!
ogre
forks bend, if they didn't they'd plain out snap...
grant_hundley
Still it shouldn't flex at all.Yeah it should. Otherwise all forks would feel the same to use....It can be fork flex, wheel flex and tire roll all making it feel like that...
forteh
My forks flex under braking, probably up to an inch - nothing major to worry about. I think some of the flex on mine is from the frame though as its titanium and natually flexy It was worse with a disk brake, putting the vee on the front has reduced it alittle.Where abouts in staffordshire are you? Muel
I've got those forks and they are pretty flexy, forks always flex but these ones flex more than any I've had before.Mine flex at least 15mm, probably more.
N.Wood
Controls are pretty light, flexy forks generally.I've had a couple of pairs now, and its pretty good for wheelswaps/batmans/stuff like that as you get extra bounce out of them.
