eskimo
Any idea what Echo Urban's would look like on a Monty 221PR? I'm thinking it could look strange, anyhow i can't actually find any pics of that setup. Anyone seen any before, or would like to do a super quick Photo Shop job for me?Also how will that throw my current geo off? I'm using Echo Lite's currently. Are the normal Monty forks longer as well? I'm also running a high rise stem so the front end comes up quick and adds extra room up front which is ideal. But if the front end comes up any more i think i might loose what little front control i already have (from the big stem). But the Urban forks have a shorter offset which compensates for the added length? Or are they just longer because of the less offset? It's not really clear to me.Anyhow question two.I have a nice 28h Disc Ti Spoked wheel with a black Tryall rim. I don't fancy rubbing all the black the rim surface from Magura pads as rebuilding with them spokes isn't really an option. Will the black wear off quick? I plan on modulating the brake on it allot. I have a Monty Champagne rim which i could use on another hub if it's an issue anyway, just the Champagne rim isn't overly wide which doesn't help with low pressures. Anyone know the weight and width on one of them off the top of their head? Also anyone with a quick suggestion on pads which offer modulation more than anything else? I have these pads to use: Plaz CRM, Zoo OG, Koxx Blue, Monty Milk & Plaz AnniversaryTa. Edited December 2, 2008 by eskimo

Spider Lad
If you're using a Magura any increase in modulation with braking will probably also mean a reduction in locking performance. The 'modulation' you'll feel in your braking will be more affected by the actuation ratios of the system. Basically, if you don't like the feel of your brake, find a new braking system. As for all your other questions... What are you doing, looking at the bike or actually riding it? Bikes are for riding not posing so find parts that perform well first and look good second, tart.

eskimo
Ok cool. But the white is painted though and the black is anodised?Bikes ride better when they look better. It goes, Geo then Aesthetics then Weight. That's the order i work off. I also like the current feel of my BB7 160mm, but fancy a go with a Magura again. Blues will get used first then.I would like to try it out before using, but the forks are new and if i decide i don't like the look then i will be left with some used forks.
