Music Taste And Riding Music

just seen pendulum live in my hometown of plymouth(was freakin awesome). still buzzing! but just wondering what everyone likes to ride to or listen to when trialsing?

i find DnB too much for riding and prefer mellower UK hip hop to ride to, on MP3, but if its not in my ears then anything will suffice, even radio 1 lol

I'm big into metal and heavy stuff.

I just like music for music not because i follow any craz or stuff like that.

If i liked what simple plan played i would listen to them, i love linkin park and evanesance has some good songs.

If you dont have it the road runner compilation album is amazing, youtube it.

Silent civilian, scar symmetry, lamb of god, devil driver and drill point are my favs right now.

This is the only tune you'll ever need: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gzkllCIyww - If you haven't heard it before then you probably weren't around in 1991 when it came out...

I'm just hoping this matching music taste to activity doesn't descend into a version of the letters magazines like Metal Hammer get/got along the lines of: "I listen to X, Y and Z. What clothes should I wear?"... Jamie Hibbard from MBUK used to get the job of answering these IIRC :P...

I listen to a few of the mixes The Scientist puts up here for download while riding too - they're brilliant because they run with a continuous beat for 30 or 40 mins subtly changing all the time, so I don't get bored and don't stop waiting for the next tune...

Some classical music is brilliant to ride to, but I'll have to find out how to normalise them to make the quiet bits louder as they get lost when you listen to them at a volume suitable for most music made now, especially with background noise like traffic to contend with.

What the f**k is that song

Haha. That is really weird! As mentioned pendulum are a favourite, but I do like techno/trance for riding as it doesn't vary too quickly or go so fast you are tempted to try something ridiculous.

However like spartan i love riding street on my own to Killswitch Engage or, dare i say it, slipknot.

But also DJ format has some TUNES! So chilled and I really like that vibe, its just a little inconsistant with the tempo so can be off putting!

i read on here that riding with music on can get you motivated a bit..

i tried it.

the cable pissed me off...and it kinda distracted me from riding! i was bouncing to beat and not paying any attention to the wall i was falling off...

any tips?
