Recommended Posts

Hi right my headset it came loose so i tighten it back up as usual and the other week the spacers bent into them self's and now my forks and headset are so wobbley and you can see the forks moving up and down the rim when u woble it. And when you hopping you can fell the cups moving up and down so does the mean to buy a new headset or just the spacers. But im getting money to buy new bits after crimbo so should i wait till its f****s up or get it sorted now. Its that Cane Creek C2 headset.

No ive bent the spacers so they dont stay on top of each other they like lap each other in a way so i think that whats causing it

dont really get yer like but

buy some new spacers,

put a spaecr on the forks then put yer stem on, then put rest of your spacers on

tighten headset up ( by tightening bolt into star nut)

then tighten stem nbolts

or buy a new headet, sounds like bearings have snapped, can pick up em cheap, 10

If all because of S**** onza parts

Wrong. It's because of you.

If you knew how to keep your bike maintained properly, then you wouldn't break it.

I'd try and help you solve the problem, but I really have no idea what you're trying to say?

Maybe try explaining it without rushing, so we actually know what you're on about?

Word!

I've had the same headset in 3 different frames, I also ran it for a while on the bmx as well.

Only ever needed 1 new set of bearings, I've never replaced the cups or seals. It's still running strong

It's an FSA pig unlsealed with the big 1/4" bearings in the lower race, heavy as houses but i know it'll outlast a few more frames.

Just goes to show that with a regular strip down of the bike you can avoid most issues. It also makes things last waaaaaay longer (this means you can spend your hard earned cash on shiny new parts :D instead of fixing things that should never have been a problem in the first place.)

If your spacers are broken, why get a completely new headset? And them onza headsets are quite decent, three of my mates have them, and one of them has had his for about a year now, and he's had no problems. In fact, ive had more problems with my viz one

Yeah i know what your saying but the cups are massive and are not like in the frame and need an onza one that fits in to the frame so doesnt move 1 bit. Well i going to bike shop now so should i get better headset or just spacers.
