shamus
personal choice really i find havin summat to cover most the ball fo your ankle stops you catching them so often the other thing is lil squares/ hexagons/ blocks, grip way better then the wavy waffle pattern in my opinion i rdie in either a pair of gravis low tops taht are minging or etnies which are also mingingdont really think it matters to be honest
Mikee
I find that really cheap skate style shoes really good as they have quite a soft bottom, they last a fair time and they cost about as much as a new pair of grips.

Jaffacakes
Well, you dont want any trials specific shoes, cos there just gay.DC's suck too. Get some skate shoes with soft soles, or nike hi tops.http://www.rollersnakes.co.uk/product.php?...ite/black/greenGet them, there comfy and the soles grippy as shit. And there £35...This is THE shoe.http://www.vapourised.com/product.asp?pid=21642&node=12These are sweet toohttp://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/S-...html?cid=133635 Edited November 29, 2008 by Jaffacakes
lil Jsy Chris
I ride in Tridents and find they really help but if you are looking for something cheap then they aren't your best choice. Slot of people find skating shoes really good, maybe give them a try

Mtchell
Riding shoes?? hhhmmmi personaly find wearing my nike airmax work well but really as quoted before you want something with a thick pattern thread on the sole for grip but you want some thing to allow your feet to breathewhich is easy to find really ,but as most nike trainers are running/sportswear they don,t offer much protection around the ankle which i would find helpfulfor when have to bail ,and in most case its hard to land correctly resulting and sprains and twists but if you had ankle support this may minimise the chance of this happening So really you wan to be looking for breatheabilty, comfort and ankle protection
