I Need New Forks For My Jump Bike

Hi everyone I'm looking for new forks for my 24"DMR sidekick. (That don't cost the earth)

To be honest i don't know much about sus forks.

I'm running 100mm travel forks and was thinking of getting some forks with 115mm.

I do tend to nose dive when I do 4x and jumps so i thought that some stiffer forks with a tad more travel would be better.

My old forks were manitou stance they took a pounding, I managed to go through 2 sets off seals before I broke the steerer tube out of them.

I'm running suntour forks at the moment and oh my god there so soft (and Sh@t) they bottom out on the way to work lol

Advice would be much appreciated.

you've got alot of options here.

can go all out strength with the marzochhi dj range, or go for thier new 4x specific fork longer travel lighter dirt jumper basically,

or theres the manitou stance which you had.

Rock shox have, the argyle range, the domain range.

fox have a few good ones like the talas and vanila range.

What are the DJ 2's like they look OK ish? Do the DJ 1's come in a quick release version

you could try society forks, they do a 4x specific fork which MBUK loved which has 80mm travel (maybe 85) or a 100mm version

there nice, strong, the 07's are better than this years, theres no point buying dj1's difference isn't noticable, to be honest dj3's (07's) are your best bet.

i forgot about society, but have only heard good things, i've never tried them myself so if you wanna go for it.

Pikes are quite trendy I think. They're nice and stiff, plush as owt, and adjustable travel means you can wind them out for trail riding /slopestyle stuff if you wish. Maybe a bit expensive though.

I don't really nose dive that often but when I do I really do. I tend to nose into things because it feels nicer (But my forks don't like it)....

I haven't got the right axle . unless you can convert dmr revolver hubs

Not to my knowledge. I can get you a nukeproof front hub though, about 25 quid, qr or 20mm, i have one, glad i went for it as it's qr atm but takes 2 seconds to convert to 20mm.

I don't think I need something as hard core as a 20mm axle

At the moment in the current fork climate I'd say go with Rock Shox, I've got 2 sets of pikes (one air, one coil) and love them. The argyles are basically hardcore versions of the pikes with steel stantions(sp?) and steerer tube and stiffer springs, i'd say they would be your best bet, and i know that might mean a new front hub, but the increased steering stiffness is really noticeable.

Only 100mm but still awesome..

EDIT: I wouldn't go for 2008 marzocchi's. The quality has dropped so much since they moved to china!

If I were you, I would get a fork with a 20mm through-axle, as that's stiff. Fox has came out with a 15mm TA too, but Fox is really expensive, but most of my friends are using the Fox 36 for street riding. I would just get a Pike, Argyle, or Gold Label. Anything but Marzocchi, they always break at the arch, some design flaw there, because of the "M" arch, that part is too stiff.

Try and get a 20mm set of forks.

Bear in mind if you buy manitous, they have a reputation for leaking.

IMO rockshox are the best fork.

Or Dirt Jumper 2's I got them on my P2, They are good as!

Don't know their price...
