grant_hundley
Plaz pads If you go into the pad review section and scroll down, there's a little box to search through that thread with...So just type in smooth or something into that little box in the pad review thread
Sidehop Stuart
Use Magura Black Pads,If you set up the brake properly, pads close to the rim and a fresh bleed, they will work well and there's no need really for expensive pads! That's what I've done.

That's what I've done. that is pure naivety right there.....Get some good pads; eg zoo greens or plazzy pads ...far better performance than blacks ( at least recommend koolstops )

Dan6061
Koxx browns on a fresh grind and bleed, set up flat without a booster. - Set up I run, and it's insane! So loud and locks so well, love it. Could do with a fresh grind soon though...EDIT: Didn't see you said smooth rim! N.Wood
I'd normally reccomend Plaz CRMs for smooth rims, but I've had about 4 pairs recently and they've been shocking.I believe they've changed their pad material, and it really doesn't work for me. N.Wood
Interesting - 4 sets of pads (3x CRM and 1xCRM ltd edition) bought from Trialsman have each been shocking, and feel completely different to pads I bought years ago. I've always been a huge fan of CRMs, up till now.I know I'm not the only person who has had problems with CRMS purchased in the last year. Cookyboy
Yeah true that, the last set i purchased were terrible! they were fine for about a week and then one of the pads just shredded, went from nearly new to about 2mm in 5 mins, no fresh grind or nothin, just completely died. grant_hundley
I bought some 'new' ones and they were awesome...On smooth rim (very dead grind)

James Shields
Ok, slightly expensive but have you thought to try cnc coust?. i ran them on a gridn and they were nothing special infact quite dull, i have recently gone smooth rim (anodized) and oh my lord, the rear brake bites like a bitch they offer sooo much lock and power, DRY WEATHER ONLY, slightest bit of water and the brakes finished till its dry.Really recommend these pads, james.
