Jitters
Hello,If this has been covered before, please feel free to send a link. I wasn't able to find anything specific. It's time for me to refresh the grind on my front rim (Vee brake 20"). I was curious to see if those with more experience might recommend a specific direction to a grind. Does it have any noticeable effect if the grind follows a particular pattern - say straight out from the hub or more of a swirled pattern that appears to 'cut into' the pad - as seen in my feeble attempt to illustrate just what the hell I am talking about. It may amount to nothing, but figured I'd ask anyway.Hopefully this makes some sense. Thanks for any input.
Dan S
Emm, i think a straight one will do even better than this one.Just make it rally rough
Headley
It's probably better if you have it so that it is perpendicular to the pads (as if it were coming straight from the hub).
grant_hundley
I don't really think it'll make a huge difference..Anyway, you want more backwards hold than forwards
Krisboats
http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....amp;hl=grindingBasically that's most of what i know about grinding rims. I've never really thought grinding at an angle was that effective, it certainly seem to slip more than the way shown above. The best thing I've found is to go in line with the hub (so the grind lines are like the image in that thread) and go round in a clockwise direction on each side of the wheel to give you better forwards and backwards hold.
