tuff_runt
I'll be honest, I'm new to all this trials stuff. I've been MTBing for 11 years though, so bikes are well in my blood.I want to start trials, and given that I'm in a good job etc, I'm prepared to spend decent money on a Curtis. It'd be a mix of street trials and natural, not really biased towards either one.I've always like the T24, but since I wish to do natural trials, would I be better sticking with the T1 instead?I know this wheel debate may cause arguments! Rusevelt
There is no reason why you can't use a 24in on natural, might even be nice change to break the norm of what is done on a 24in bike. wheelsize is not relevant regarding the terrain you choose to ride on, so if your heart is set on 24in then go for it. Chris Akrigg, totally broke the rules with his Brakeless part-2 vid with riding lines that no one thought was possible without brakes..... CurtisRider
As much as i like 24s, 26 really is where its at for me. I've owned a high specced zoot (not a spasticly setup one like most people) and it was great, ive also ridden various other 24s and liked them lots but they never seem to feel as good as a stock to me for street. I currently have a 26ghz and its stupidly great for everything, i cant think of anything i hate about it. The geo is a brillaint medium for spins and manuals, as well as feeling confident on larger gaps and drops. I also owned a curtis stock and it was the shittest thing known to man, i hated the thing, it handled like shit, and so does every other curtis i have ridden i really cant stand curtis products, others will say the opposite im sure, my curtis forks lasted all of 2 weeks before snapping and having 3 other cracks in them...Super hardcore strong forks indeed. eskimo
24" has the big problem of limited parts. Well it's not a big problem, but it can be depending on what you like.
spartan
If your in the UK or West coast NA then getting stuff shouldnt be too hard. The only thing that is different from a 26 are the rims.Just get some of the atomlab rims like danny or a DX32 and youll be set. Ash-Kennard
if you wanna try trials, curtis arent really the way to go. their geometry is dated and generally not up to the abuse riders now would give one

Ash-Kennard
boons an exception, he has been riding for a very long time, if you are just getting into trials, a street bike can only help you get so far

boon racoon
my curtis forks lasted all of 2 weeks before snapping and having 3 other cracks in them...Super hardcore strong forks indeed. The standard forks aren't great unless you get the heavy duty insert in them. But then they're too heavy to realistically use for trials (though Danny Mac did for ages) ..so yeah.if you wanna try trials, curtis arent really the way to go. their geometry is dated and generally not up to the abuse riders now would give oneNot sure how the geometry is dated on the T24? And my frame is 3.5 years old and hasn't snapped, cracked or been repaired once. They're solid. Not going to comment on the T1 because it was designed about 6 or 7 years ago when trials was totally different. The T24 is spot on though and so is 24" in general I reckon.Edit: Yeah Luke, it is Edited November 15, 2008 by boon
Luke Rainbird
Isn't the geo custom (at least to some extent) anyway?
