Christophe'
I think we are going to stick the ISO mount on the 24" Ashton/Diamondbacks so they can be run ... I cant wait for mine (think we have some samples on the way too) - 22:17 for trials then at a click its like 34:17 for the park or going super fast. single speed rear cog with a tensioner .... WINalso I didnt know until I played with one at cycle but its also a pretty insane freewheel - has loads of points in one of the gears and is almost instant engagement in the other so has the potential for running a fixed rear hub and getting some of the weight back.I cant remember if the gear can be changed without pedaling? if so insane run ins could be done then shift into 22 17 for the trials landing?I ran 22:18 on my stock ... which got dropped to 18:15 then on the 24 I have 18:14 (which is a shade light) so I guess 22:17 should be the gear of choice ?22 17 used to be pretyy much standard everyone

Revolver
I bet you can't wait!Imagine if there was one that also had a freecoaster system...
psycholist
My guess is that it'll suffer from the same problem as every other planetary gear system for bikes I've tried and have loads of backlash, so pickup will be rubbish. Regardless of whether it's strong enough it'll feel like going back to a 16 click Shimano hub after using a Chris King... I just hope I'm wrong on this though, it would be a very cool option... Gandalf the Yellow
wow this thing look bloody good. can't imagine it being light though but an option of an extra gear will probably make it up.wouldn't mind checking it out in the flesh, should be very interesting.at £400 i don't think everyone will have it so i guess riders in group won't benefit much anyway as their friends will be lagging behind! steve

They say weights are from sram (owner of truvativ)
Bionic Balls
is that cranks, "rings" and BB all together?
Danny
Basically an overdrive for bikes. Nice idea i like it. Can't really see its use on a trials bike but for other disciplines it could work well.
Tomm
Hmmm, there's a lot to go wrong - two sets of pawls/ratchet, and all those teeny planetary gears. At least in 22t mode it's all locked down so you might be safe in your trials gear. It sounds awesome but I can't help but think there's too much to go wrong. One thing though - It looks as though it has a freewheel which doesn't make sense if you're running a freehub on the back as well. Maybe mountain bikes will go trials bike style and end up with FFW?! Bionic Balls
i wonder if trials actually inspired that...?
ben_travis
i wonder if trials actually inspired that...?i doubt it. I imagine its more intended for dh / xc so that you do not have to physically shift the chain over while heading down a hill etc. While also being developed for free riders so that they have more clearance. Its not really that great for trials IMO as it doesnt offer the clearance we currently have on our tiny gears, but i do see the positives with the overdrive idea

N.Wood
Would be sweet getting your trousers sucked in by the chain during a DH race.By the way does Hammerschmidt mean Hammer Time in German? I'd like that to be so.
