Pashley26
I saw this on thesub forums menu it said "What is the best way to put on..."And I was really hoping it would say "Cat-Suits when youv'e already got your street walkers on."I'm always getting that problem, It's a f**king joke. And the other one is knee highs when youv'e got tights on ? They ALWAYS ladder. +1 for Hair Spray...It's a great film.

chrisbikefix
hairspray works wonders, also another thing that is good is disc brake or clutch cleaner as it drys really quickly!!! But spray adesive is the best thing to use. halfords - 7.99 or something like that

ogre
avoid just forcing them on 'cause you'll eventualy stretch the rubber + they'll slide more, lockons ***
A.Baxter
I always use deoderant spray a fair ammount inside the grips, then they slide on really easily and then leave them for about 15-20 mins and they should be solid stuck tight.Adam

TonyB
Have you ever taken grips off with an air gun ? Immense fun.Not as much fun as removing brake caliper pistons...Hairspray works well for grips. Extra stong is best. Use the same for removing them. Pashley26
Not as much fun as removing brake caliper pistons...Aahh yes ! I've sent a piston through a door skin once.... The best one EVER was my mate bought a fully restored Jaguar 420G and he topped up the Brake Res' and spilt some on the wing. He went to wipe it off and just spread it across the wing, then he dropped a boiling hot kettle on his leg and went to sort that out. Came back to the car 3 hours later and the wing was through to the metal ! HAHA MONG !
Muel
Block up one end of the bar, slide the grip onto the other end of the bar as far as you can, attach a pump, pump the handle fast while pulling the grip on. Usually needs two people.I've heard of another method I want to try, put a load of zip ties inside the grip so you can slide the grip easily onto the bar, then just pull the ties out. weebryan
Hair spray will work if you dont go ridding in the wet. Deaodarant works but can take a while to dry. Brake cleaner is ok but the best stuff i ever used is electrical contact cleaner, i use crc contact cleaner from work it dries in seconds so you need to be quick when putting them on, i also use it to clean parts ck drive shells, bolt holes disc brakes anything, it does not affect plastics so good for maggies and padscrc contact cleaneror use a simalar product really great stuff Edited November 12, 2008 by weebryan
