Steve-A
Woah, don't bring me into this! The last vid i put up was a very quick simple edit. Straight cuts (pretty much anyway) on a regular beat. Its clear to see Danny has spent a long time doing the 'edit' on this vid.Riding, is big as usual, and impressive, but as others said lacked a little diversity.Music was a little too dramatic for my taste. Trails can cope with electronic jumpy dirty sounds but I just felt the music made it sound like you were doing something heroic almost. You said these weren't your best clips so maybe should have toned it down a bit? Still good to see a different style of music being applied to riding. Now I put edit in quotation marks up there, because I wanted to split it into two parts. What most people are calling the edit consists, in this case, of a video edit and of video effects work (VFX).The edit it self was fairly basic, but technically alright. Clips cut concistly, but there was little change of pace, or building up. It was all go from clip one. Still not a huge problem, because of the VFX is doing the work of making it interesting:)The VFX work was interesting. I like what you tried to do, its nice that as the music ads more melody you drop some of the flicker and move to a more black a white look. Going back to the edit, this is where the change of pace up a gear would have worked, I think. Now the downsides, I wasn't keen on the white flashes, surely black or white noise would have been better? Adding grain and even like some picture break up like a poorly tuned TV, would have worked much better with the sounds you were timing your effects to. Rather than the white flashes and saturation changes you used. Last point, I'd have a look at your brightness and contrast for you black and white clips as they were all pretty much grey and white, which lets the look down a lot for me.Overall I thought it was a good idea, but all the little things came together and it didn't quite work for me. Keep trying
Linus
Great video!Riding was awsome, you fit both mod and stock. Editing was cool to, well fited to the song. The cat was funny too.
ilikeriding
for me that was more about the music than the riding seeing as I didn't see many clips that werent speeded up or slowed down to make it go with it. What meaning does this convey?... trials is all about the massive hangtime you get on a sidehop?didnt like it as a video, big moves though Edited November 10, 2008 by ilikeriding

Some people try to provoke a reaction with their videos, some people seem far to obsessed with personal ego (not directing this at anyone in particular). Its just little things such as putting a non relevant topic title and saying "this is nothing special, load o sh*te" or "I dont really give a sh*t what you say" that provokes people before they've even watched what the rider has to offer. It just has a negative effect on the sport, and any sponsors i might add.Anyway, riding is huge as usual Danny, can't argue with that! I can't really comment on the editing as you're a lot better at it than me at it, but it was certainly interesting but maybe a little too black and white. Oh and on/offs will never count... Ross Clayton
whats the point in making a new video if its just the same as before?you dont have to be shy and nervous about admitting that Danny's video was boring and repetitive and that you like to watch Danny Mac's video's.LOFL? explain please.LAUGH OUT f**kING LOUD! at how some people are so sad...... meaning you!yer i agree danny macs videos are mint but everybody is different we all like different things, just why comment on hius arse its his video no one elses he can edit it how ever he wants.Ross. manuel
Overall I thought it was a good idea, but all the little things came together and it didn't quite work for me. Keep trying pretty much spot on. I think its the best one you have done so but the riding still is a little dissapointingly samey - you have masses of beans though.funny how you say how crap my tgs videos and tgs iss altogether and never put it on cls's or other peoples videosCLS was a pioneer, pretty much the first and still the best TGS basher of them all. At the times he was putting out his vids the things he was doing were creative / innovative / interesting because stuff like it, and the sheer scale difference of his riding had never been seen. The problem is he was sooo good that everyone started to imitate, and the tgs vids of today were born (and obviously the tunnicliffe brought along the stock side at the same time ...). You are an amazing rider - you have a huuge hop. Its just that video wise its been done. Also - I dont think people have singled your videos out - I comment in most tgs basher vids to say they are a bit dull, as i feel that people (like yourself) could make insanely good videos if they changed their ways a little, and maybe tried to be a bit different with their vids. Which - with the edit - it was to a point ... its only constructive critisism though, youle never get ALL good comments, you just have to try take what people say into account, or, on the otherhand, edit youre videos for youreslf nobody elsei liked the video danny, alot, BUT, i can see what people mean about it lackin diversity, you need to film loadsa of random bollocks for youre new video so its creative and shows youre FULL potential, BUT just because there wasnt loads of diffrent moves doesnt mean it wasnt enjoyableword. If the answer is the latter for anyone then really what's the point in putting the result on a forum.LAUGH OUT f**kING LOUD! at how some people are so sad...... meaning you!yer i agree danny macs videos are mint but everybody is different we all like different things, just why comment on hius arse its his video no one elses he can edit it how ever he wants.Ross.pretty much as damon says ... the point of a video is for other people to watch and enjoy ? if a lot of people dont like them then maybe he should think about changing the style of them ?(thats not particularly aimed at danny more at your comment)
Tom Booth
Just watched it again and enjoyed it quite alot. I notice you have taken alot of the set ups out, if that makes sence. Like the hook in sheffield, you show you getting into the hook, chop the agonising 5 seconds of just hanging there then show you going straight up, which works alot better in my eyes then the norm.Stop picking up on the bad comments only thou lads, it's whats giving you abit of a bollocks reputation on here, aswell as the shoddy reply's. Atleast try with the spelling etc
Rich Pearson
funny how you say how crap my tgs videos and tgs iss altogether and never put it on cls's or other peoples videosarewell!thanks for the comments they have been really helpfulThe thing is that as Rowan said, CLS kind of moved in a new direction which people weren't used to, much like the French new wave of film in the 1960's (yeah, I'm showing off, I know... ) and as soon as it had been done a few times, people get bored. I personally think you, Damon, Gaz M, etc, are all amazing riders, and I think the fact that you stand up for the style you ride and the video's you produce is amazing, but sometimes the whole 'superhero' attitude gets a bit tiring. Yeah, Craig and Neil both got masive props for their earlier video's because most peoples minds were blown by what they had accomplished on a bike; YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD AS THEM, but you can't expect us to all just go "Wow, thats the 55th time I've seen an over 50" sidehop, I'm still just as impressed as the first time I saw one."Keep making vids man, I've enjoyed them all so far, and I'm actually kind of glad to share a sponsor with you Just chill out a little and appreciate the good and the bad as they come equally.Rich
EchoSam
I think most of your vidoes are good... but you could get some really big lines in there as you are very good at trials riding.I would love to be as good as you oneday i would not be sticking with the same few moves i would be putting them moves into lines and i think tahst most trials riders lack these days be creative doesnt have to be big lines at first.Look at Rowan johns he is one of the best british trials riders he is loved for his creativity.Rowan doesnt make that many videos as he put effort into his riding thinking of lines.but when he brings a video out everybody loves it.But when you bring out a video you get all these comments like ' seen it all before ' ' it was boring no lines ' and then you get into arguements i think if riders just put a bit more effort and throught into there riding no one would get into arguements.
