JonMack
Do you service your/your friends hubs regularly (at least once a month)?Do you own a bike shop? Are you a professional bike mechanic who deals with CK hubs regularly? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I would have said it was probably worth it, if not then the chances are you could get away with sending it to Tarty for a £10 service every time you think it needs one. BenLeacock™
my king seems to slip a lot and the hub itsself is loose and wobbles side to sideIve told you before ill sort it out for you? The wobble is probably just down to the loose lockring. Edited November 8, 2008 by BenLeacock™
Revolver
Send it to tarty.£10, and it will be done by the best, and it will do you for a loooooong time.As opposed to £150 for the tool, which you may or may not only use twice. Josh Greenan!!!!!!!!!!
I had a loose lockring. Sent it all to tarty and they sorted everything.
monkeyseemonkeydo
If it's only the lockring that's wrong all you need to fix it is silly (imperial) sized allen key... 7/64" or something like that. And also, while I'm in here, gu trials please put some effort into your posts if you don't want to be reported and sent back to NMC. grant_hundley
its actually 3/32"but i bought a spare off trials uk and its a 2.5mm bolt instead
max-t
Don't send it to Tarty, there's no need. On the left hand side of the hub theres a lockring with a really small bolt in it. Youll need a 3/32 imperial sized allen key which you can get hold of easily (as Grant said). Then you need to take your wheel out of the frame undo the bolt and tighten the ring as tight as you can with your fingers, then do the bolt back up.
