margretthatcher
Hey guys im new to this forum and i live in the states. It seems like all the trials bikes in america cost over a grand, which i don't have. I'm dying to get into trials and wanted to know what you guys thought about the raleigh xxix. Yes,yes it's a 29r, but it has decent disc brakes, single speed, and weighs next to nothing! Anyways i was hoping you guys could weigh in and educate me on this. Revolver
29" trials has been brought up before. It's heavier than 26", much less manoeuvreable, and the parts avaliable aren't up to strength.Try and get a 26" jump bike, at least. Jitters
I have a 29er ss that I play around on, but have a mod for proper practice.I agree with revolver that the 29er approach may make things difficult and rim and spoke damage/tires/tubes would be an issue. Rolling back on those big tires is a real chore too, so gear changes would have to be considered, at least in my opinion.Something you may consider is finding a used 26 frame/bike with a low top tube geometry and working from there. Remove seat/post, get some good v pads and a light grind or discs and whatnot. Maybe rigid forks too, but that's not mandatory.Where in the states are you located? I'm in S.C.Oh, and welcome aboard!
