Tom_
Basically, I am a fairly long term suffer-erererer of spots, being 17 I guess Im in the middle of the shitty spotty times. Im sure that Im not the only one with shit skin. Thought Id start a topic so people who have, or dont have them could contribute ideas and solutions to getting better skin. Not miracle (sp?) cures as I dont think they really exist. My friend has been to the doctors and is taking anti biotics for his, but to be honest I dont really think thats a good idea... Im beggining to think that mine may be stress related, as they seem to flare up when I feel even a tiny bit stressed (like now) although diet comes into it alot I think, after living alone last week (woo) I ate shit and drank a whole lot of lager. Im pretty sure that is all very very badly worded, I cant think straight at the moment dunno why. Anyways. discuss.. maybe.
Sidehop Stuart
I've had spots since I was 15 .I'm now 16 nearly 17. I get spots mainly on my back, chest and face. Sometimes they're ok, but other times they flare up lots. I've tried anti-biotics and cream but they dont seem to help at all. I think it is down to diet, I eat a lot of rubbish, but now i'm starting to eat more healthy food, I should be ok.
Dr. Nick Riviera
- Drink lots of water - Eat less shit - Stop touching your face/neck - Wash that shit twice a day - Exfoliate - Change your pillow cases regularly - Drink more waterSpot creams are largely for young girls, if it's really bad, go see your doctor. Gavyn.
it's all about how "greasy" your skin is. go to your doctor. if you've got serious acne changing your diet will be hardly noticable. your doctor will give you antibiotics which probably wont stop them but they'll probably reffer you to a specialist who'll offer you roaccutane. this stuff really is the best but f**k me the side effects are not good. i've had it for about 3 months now and it's made a huge difference. if you can put up with the fact that you're skin will be super dry and falling off, you're lips will be constantly chapped. shaving and washing your face will be uncomfortable. oh and you'll get suicidal over the smallest thing. Then it's really worth doing.
Simpson
roaccutaneI took it was quality, but sweating during sport was agony, shaving etc was awfull, but only for like 6 months so happy daysfine-ish now and im like 19 lol

Ben H!
i have quite bad acne & i'm on roaccotane it seems to be working pretty well i've only been on it for about 5 weeks, the only problems are that it makes your lips very dry & also your eyes & i seem to be getting quiet a few rashes aswell. but it doesn't really matter about that. I have suffered with acne since about 15 y.o. took antibiotics for the most part which done sweet FA, I went to hospital and they offered me roaccatane (however you spell it, the one people above have been talking about) I've heard from many people it works wonders, but you are not allowed to drink on it, so i didn't bother with it. instead i used a gel called Nicam Gel, worked a treat. It takes a good 6 months to start really clearing them up but really is great after that.Doctor said drinking more water and what you eat has no bearing whatsoever on acne behaviour. The stop touching the affected areas and the wash pillow cases regularly i would definately agree with though. Also exfoliating and washing with shit like OXY and other teenage based cleansers make it worse not better. Basically I just wash my face with warm water only, dry, apply Nicam Gel, 6 months later...done...but keep doing it to make sure it dones't come back. Fishy
Anyone tried warm water and tea tree oil/shit. It worked well good for me, although I never got proper harsh ache, just the occasional spot.
Tom_
Well, to be honest I dont have severe acne, wer talking maybe 10 proper spots on my face at a time, at a bad time, but I do have scars from when I had it much worse, and there are still sorta half gone ones about, so when it flares up, it does look pretty nasty. I found that recently i was drinking alot of water, and eating relativly healthily, I tend not to eat sugar, as Im more a savoury person I eat alot of meat, and bread that sort of thing (meats pretty greasy, Im guessing thats not too good) but recently they are alot better than they were. All this medication stuff sounds pretty savage to be honest, my skins already dry at times, I dont want it to get drier! What sort of stuff would people recomend to expholiate with? I went through a phase of washing with warm water and bathroom soap, seemed to do an ok job, left my skin abit dry, but my friend told me that it infact clogs your pores (rumour or not?) so I stopped and started using clean and clear blackhead shite, and some clearasil spot wipes, I have to admit the wipes seem to do a half decent job, they have loads of shit it, and really sting if I have a bad spot or somthing, and if my face is dirty, you can see it on the wipe. However the face wash Im not convinced by, it was about the time that i stopped using a face wash that my skin got better, and about this time as I started using one again rather tan soap that theyv flaired up again. I have often thought, marketing wise, surley they want you to keep buying these face washes? so why would they make something that is really that effective? On the other hand for people to keep buying it it should really be showing some kind of effect? Although Im sure that doesnt worry them too much as a large number of teens do get spots and thus buy there products.

If you have a beasty whitehead you need to get rid of cos you're going out, just take the head off and squeeze very very gently, if it don't come out then just leave it! M-i-t-c-h
clean the pads on your bike helmet every time you ride, and was your face as soon as your finish riding. Trust me the sweat and the build up of dirt is just immense when you wear a helmet, its the same or motorbikers.
Dan6061
I'm lucky enough to not get problems with them. I usually get the odd one or two appear every now and then, but nothing major.. I know that hasn't helped, but you can just be jealous or something.
Balman
From like 12 to now (17) iv had very bad skin back, chest, face, neck and now arms strangly enough iv tryed every cream under the sun and its been useless i got into going to the gym for a little while and changed my diet around and that helped me to no end it went from MEGA bad and oozing lol to the odd little one and although my diets still not perfect there alot more controled and not as wild as they once were its just tryin to balence eating well and enjoyin food lol. also i went to a profecional skin doctor had a treatment and it was mint... for like a week but she said the worst thing to use is like clearacell and stuff like that as although it seems to work it just dryes the skin out making the spots go then your body over produces the moisture it needs causing the skin to be even more greecy than it first started out to be meaning more spots thats why most of them sting when you use them so i just havnt botherd with them any more i just use water to clean my face and its worked a treat still not perfect but i dont think it will be at my age but defo a massive imporvement also anyone that has access to a steam room or simerler id recomend one every so ofter i used one in center parks and my skin was perfect for like two weeks haha. Joe_Elding
Whoever said diet and water consumption doesn't make a difference is chatting shit, that is the single most important thing to stop acne. I stopped using face wash after nass when it cleared up no end through just rinsing my face under a tap every morning. Now i wash using hot water in thge shower and then once im out of the shower dip my face in a sink full of cold water << that helps so much it closes up your pores and makes your skin feel so much smoother. And then once a week i exfoliate and use tea tree oil. DRINK MORE WATER

hI-OOPS-CAPS
stress is a factor, quite a large one for myself. sleep welltheres a type of cream that dries your face out, you can buy it a chemists. its not like clearasil or any shit like that.i use simple soap, that dries my face out and was recommended by few doctors
Sam Jones
i got this soap from Lush! with this face cream and my face is clearing up quite nicely. its been two days and i can already see the difference. The soap has this gritty stuff in that clears out your pores. (use whilst finished everything else in the shower). then when out of the shower i dab my face dry then use this cream stuff and my spots seem to be going nicely. txt2007
im 15 today and recently they've become quite bad, i've had them since i was 12/13ish but not as bad as this, it used to be more black heads but theyve gone now and its all white head bits and red bumps ive noticed a few on my back now aswell.I think it's down to diet but to be honest i don't have time to think of a regime up so it's my own fault really, am thinking of going the doctors to see if i can continue my current eating habits while reducing the spots... Tom_
its really not that hard to change your diet, not like salads 3 ties a day, but just less ultra sugary shit, less super greasy junk food and generally a more natural diet? Exfoliant, what exactly is it? where should I get it, what does it do?
Dr. Nick Riviera
It's soap with grit in it, which in turn makes you a clean little monkey, gets rid of dead skin and such.boots/superdrug/tesco etc. sell it.
