About Vee Brakes

You might want to look into different vee pads for starters. The Eagle Claw 2 pads are great for XC, but didn't work very well when I was experimenting with brakes, rim grinds and whatnot. I have had good luck with Moe V pads (green in color) and a light grind. You may want to experiment with other pads if you do not plan to grind your rims. There are some nice options out there for that set up too.

Here is a nice link with some good brake setup tips for starters. Scroll down to "Parts" section 2 (Brakes & everything about them)

Hope that will help a bit.
