Callum.Curwood
1. You need to fill a Bucket/Bath/Bowl with water.2. Undo the tpa all the way OFF.3.Take both bleed bolts out. (One is located on the slave piston, and the other is a the lever.)4. Submerge the whole brake under water.5. While keeping the whole brake under water, Put your finger over one of the bleed hole and pull your lever in.6. While still holding your lever in, Move you finger over to your other bleed hole.7. Let go of your lever.8. Repeat step 4, 5 and 6 untill you see no more air coming out of both bleed holes.9. With the brake still submerged under the water, Do both the bleed bolts up.10.. Take the brake out of the water and check that they is no air in the system. If they is air the the system, start all over agian.Hope I have helped you with them 10 easy steps. It is abit tricky when you start but you will soon get the hang of it
Jamie.
You can use water or you can use oil also.To use oil you need to buy a Magura rim brake service kit bleed kit. You can buy them on tartybikes and they are £20. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=2074The kit includes a 30ml syringe, 2x 25cm length of clear tube, 50ml Magura Royal Blood, 2.30m of standard black Magura hose, Mounting jaws for assembly of barbed fittings (no more faffing around with blocks of wood and damaging the hose!), 6 copper crush washers (to enhance sealing of all connectors), 6 olives, 3 barbed fittings for cross-over pipes (plus two for construction of the bleed kit), 1 shroud nut and 2 zip ties. You can use the Magura Royal Blood to bleed the brake but you can just use cooking oil or vegetable oil (that is what I use).To bleed the brake you need to fill the syringe with oil, undo the bolt just above you crossover on the left slave cylinder. Undo the bolt above your brake hose on the lever. Screw the syringe into the slave cylinder where you got the first bolt from and rump the oil through (you will need to catch the oil with something because it will come out of the hole where you took the bolt from in your lever). When you have pushed all the oil from the syringe through you can put the bolt back in the lever, remove the syringe frome the cylinder and put the bolt back in the cylinder. When you have finished all of that you are done. Also if you are very low on money and cannot buy the brake bleeding kit you can use water. To do that you will need to:Find a bucket (you can use your bath)Fill the bucket or the bath full of water. Take the brake off of your bike and put it in the bucket/bath. Undo both bleed bolts, the one on the lever and the one on the slave. (Underwater) The method is tricky at first, but once you have the rhythm, it will take a minute at maximum. Underwater: hold your finger over the hole on the slave cylinder (remember, when you have your finger on the hole, make sure it is tight and sealed against the hole, other wise it will take longer to bleed and may effect performance), press the lever all the way down, then hold your finger over the hole on the lever body, take your finger off the hole on the slave cylinder and release the lever fully, repeat until you no longer see any air coming out. Do up both of the bleed bolts. (Again, underwater) Take the brake out and it should be air free. Jamie
tom jarvis
the best way is to use water it give a better feel to the lever 1. fill a bath or sink with warm water2. undo the bleed bolt on the lever3. then the bleed bolt on the slave4. put it all in the sink or bath what ever you used5. (helps with a friend) get your friend to cover his finger over the slave bleed bolt hole6.now pump the lever about 5 times7. on the 5th time hold the lever down then cover the bleed bolt hole with your finger 8. let go of the lever remember to make sure you friend still has his hole covered9. repeat until you are happy with the feel of the lever:Dyou may find tht if you that if you maggie has had fluid in it its best to flush the pipes out with come hot soapy water i used fairy up liquid make sure u get all the bubbles out 1st though
