Lewis-Trials
Hi ive just bought my trials bike and im getting in to very good when ive been in different area's ive tryed different bikes out to see what bike i was going to go for so i decided to go for Mod to start of with. Ive only been riding for 1 day now and ive got the Pedal Kick, Static, Pedal up. Im just wondering what everyone finds easier to use to get up Walls, Benches, Crates what ever your instincts put you to. The only thing that's wrong is i dont dare to scratch the frame i know.Static Or Pedal Up
*Koxx hydroxx 2 Jack *
Pedal up to a pallet is the easiest for me as I'm not scared of braking a wall and the wood wont scuff my bike .(have i spelt easiest right?) Chandler
Very good question, and one I havent worked out the answer to yet.......I can actually pedal up higher onto stuff but I will often end up nose diving (which is a major problem on walls).Static is a lot more secure, and I've recently seen some riders doing huge static ups, so Im gonna concentrate on them more

N.Wood
If the run ups tight then I'll do it from static, but generally I'll just tap up whatever.

Revolver
(have i spelt easiest right?)You have indeed, but you spelt 'breaking' wrongI use the pedal up for most things, because it allows you to gather momentum. However, a rider friend of mine hinted to me that a lot of the height can be gained by preloading properly. This means, if you preload right, a static can be higher. This is quite true as well because if you think about it, some people can sidehop 9 pallets, which is a static technique, but to do something similar to a pedal up at the same height, they have to tap it. Rebelistic
I find it depends on the situation.A pedal up will get me higher, but a static is safer as it carries less foward momentum. As for scratching your bike, sooner or later you'll just have to accept that it's a trials bike and it will get scratched IMO.
