MadManMike
So, the story goes like this:18th birthday, driving lessons got for me. Did those, had a break. 20th birthday, decide to start up again, do the odd few. 21st birthday, buy a Polo GT for resto. Move house, no driveway, sell Polo GT.4 years later, get a job where they say "it would be very beneficial" to drive - colleagues hint at promotion when that's said.I'd quite like to just do a two day course to get it over with, because I CAN drive, I just need a refresher. Can anyone suggest a good 2 day intensive or something? Preferrably close to Hastings / in East Sussex somewhere.Cheers chaps!
Jaffacakes
I dont know of any 2 day courses, but my mate who had never driven before did a 5 day intensive course and passed in that 5 days. It cost him £500 though...
Sam Ward
http://www.learning2drive.co.uk/it says they do a 2 day course for people that failed there test, don't know if you could qualify them but it cant hurt to try
anzo
£350 odd for the failed test, 'We observe your driving and give you 1:1 tutition'....ermmm, I thought normal instructors did this? Also, don't forget your theory test! That probably would have expired by now, you'll need that before you even consider doing another course
Simpson
I've never been keen on intensive course's, does your missis drive? If she does buy a car and get joint insurance so you can drive if she sits next to you? Thats how i passed my test in 7 hours worth of tuition, just because i was insured in a car with my dad and got hours and hours of driving in, if you do choice to do it remember that if your instructor tells you to do something do it and practice it without him all the time, some people kidd themselves that they can drive in a "pass test mode" and a "how i normally drive mode" but whenever i try to drive in "pass test mode" now its amazing at how quickly i slip back without noticing.Really i do think its one of the best idea's for you especially if your going to need the car afterwards and you won't be totally raped on insurance because of your age, and no point wasting £40 on 2 hours driving remembering how to find the biting point or what have youJust a suggestion
CurtisRider
With my intensive i explaiend to them i had already done a heap of hours with my parents, the instructor took me for a test drive and said i needed 2 days tuition, and i got a test 2 weeks after that Failed though, so jokes on me
Mark W
Stuff Simps saidThe only thing to bear in mind with that is that you drive with someone who knows what they're doing. My instructor said that the day before I passed my test (First time ), one of his best students failed her test 'cos she'd been driving with her dad who always indicated to go past parked cars in the road, so she did that in her test and failed as a result. So yeah, just minor things like that really - make sure you 100% know how to do stuff, don't just copy whoever's driving you around... Don't know how much sence that made its hard to explain but yea don't listen to someone who passed their test donkeys ago.
