Dan81
..........for my Czar? Was looking for a frame with a seat (to sit and pedal between spots) and somehow ended up getting a Czar Freetrials today (didnt plan on it).I need recommendations on some stuff....An isis bottom bracket ....or if I get square.....Onza, echo or Trialtech (all £12 on Tarty)Stem (not sure about angle/length but shorter rather than longer and ummm bit angled up - 20 deg?). Is this one any good... http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=41 or this one... http://www.trials-uk.co.uk/product.aspx?productid=1028With a D521 rim (for now) what size/which tyres should I look at? (Used to like IRC's 'back in the day' but dunno what people use now)Unless I can find a used one Middleburns are too much (so much else I've got to buy) so what crank/bashring?A long shot but a little seat...any idaes where to get a tiny one? Also, do seat tube clamps come in different sizes or standard?Trying to keep costs down to get it up and running as gonna turn my old bike into a jump/street beast!Cheers,Dan Edited October 26, 2008 by Dan81
tazzard
alright bud. I not sure if this will help but i would recommend isis bb as square taper easier to round causes cranks to feel loose. trial tech cranks have had a good word said about them and not that expensive either, echo cranks are not that much but heard a few cases where there feel loose even when tight giving a little play on them. echo bash or trialtech depending if your wanting to save .1 of a pound. i am not sure if your frame is 20, 24 or 26 i presuming as your after a little seat it'll be 24 or 26. 26 tyres are usually maxis high rollers, tryall and few riders like the kenda all personal preforance. the maxis and tryall very similar but looking extra 10pound for just back tyre for tryall. tryall stem over the monty as if you see the top angle of monty stem is for the monty forks which come on an angle. If your frame geo has a high bb its recommended you use a high stem likes of you gu tp etc. from about 45bb rise plus would recommend high. i not sure about seat tube either i never rode a seat i have the gu tp 08 i love it feels really nice but sounds if you'll be popping 360's out rather than t.g.s trials (tap, gap, side you will here this term some time) i hope i helped in some way bud. ste
Dan81
cheers for that - useful info. Im not sure what crank length though 160 or 170 (previously used 165 - D'oh)its a 26" - one of these - http://selectbikes.com/index.php?act=viewP...p;productId=208Wheelbase: 1065mmChainstay Length - 390mmBB rise - 10mmHead Angle - 71 Degrees. So with not that high a b/b do I not need such a lofty stem? I don't want to rule out 'normal trials riding' through choice of parts, just want it to feel ok for the rolling stuff as well. eskimo
Just buy something average then go from there. Your soon see if you need more angle/ reach/ rise or not.

(Used to like IRC's 'back in the day' but dunno what people use now) maxxis high rollers or maybe holy rollers, about 2.35Unless I can find a used one Middleburns are too much (so much else I've got to buy) so what crank/bashring? i really like echo cnc'd but theyre expensive, so id say some czar cranks from here, and probably an echo or similar bashring: http://selectbikes.com/index.php?act=viewP...mp;productId=11 A long shot but a little seat...any idaes where to get a tiny one? err, onza mini seat? ive got one you could buy, or contact info@onza.comAlso, do seat tube clamps come in different sizes or standard? Theres loads of different sizes..... from 20ish mm to 38ish mmTrying to keep costs down to get it up and running as gonna turn my old bike into a jump/street beast!Cheers,Dan Edited October 27, 2008 by trials adam
