BenJohnson
any ideas on what it is like to cut and drill?
aener
He's a bit of a bodge-master, and cut it with a grinder.... No idea about drilling - though I wouldn't think it'd be too difficult, with a sharp bit + centre punch.
danny mills
I made one out of a hack sore blade all you need is a drill.Make 2 to double the strength should work good you can make your own lengths to get a good tenchen on your chain to hope that helped. Bionic Balls
http://www.key-to-metals.com/Article86.htmthat's the best spring material i know of...and what i use 2mm thick sheet costs £1200 per square metre...good shit.
RossMcd
Have you thought of buying the proper springs from tarty? Just get two and double them up and your tentioner should work better
Bionic Balls
with the hacksaw blades...instead of say 3 blades- have 2 and a half. Its a compromise between tension and how far the blade can actually bend...works quite well in my experience though
grant_hundley
use more hacksaw blades?

Ben-jamin'
I have a home made 74 Kingz. I used spring steel. You can get it in most metal shops, they work great.
forteh
Use the hacksaw blades as a leaf spring, when you bolt them onto the bracket put a couple of mm of washers between the blades and the same amount where it bolts to the slider block. This will increase the tension massively and you wont need to apply any bend to the spring to get it to hold your chain dead tight
