New Rb Magura Lever!

Copying? Doesn't matter. None of these levers are patented, so no worries. Copying just forces brands to step up their game by releasing better products. Without such heated competition, would trials components be at the high level they are at now?

I like that RB lever anyway; it kinda reminds of the Fresh Products lever for some reason.

Yeah they're a couple of years old. Still prefer the original to be honest though.

The original was amazing, best lever I've ever owned, but it definitely wasn't perfect. the obvious issue was the seals, but another problem was the bigger cylinder which meant you had to set the pas closer to the rim. This meant a much higher chance of rubbing, dont know if its worth it for an extra 8% mechanical advantage.

Better design function and styling characteristics (Y) but i don't like that adjustment knob sitting between the lever and grips (as on the Echo brakes) because it looks like it might get in the way of fingers specifically if you grip the handlebars with your 3 outside fingers and your thumb. but that is just how it appears to me looking at it.

If you imagine your index (braking) finger lining up with the tip of the lever blade, all your fingers would be well clear of the tpa. This photo is misleading because he has taped his bars almost upto the lever, but you wouldn't ever normally have ypour hands that far along the bars.

Have you had it since new? ever replaced the seals?

Im the 3rd owner from new, not sure if the seals were replaced but I dont think they were; I did grease them before I bled it with water though.

Its hardly an effort to get a new seal though is it? :D

Brakes usually leak because the inside of the cylinder is scratched. New seals won't make much of a difference (or will only temporarily solve the problem) since none will make a good and tight seal against a scratched surface. I had an RB lever and it leaked ever since I bought it from a shop. This was in 2002, they then cost the equivalent of around 50 pounds.
