Grant Peters
Hey has anyone cracked their ribs before? If so how long did it take to recover enough to be able to ride as its driving me mad not doing so!!(Did it a week ago today on a mini ramp. Did an oposite feeble stall to 270 out and caught the front wheel during the 270 and got dumped about 6.5 feet to flat!! Then had to push my bike 3 miles home because I couldnt ride at all lol. Fishy
Depends how bad the fracture is, usually takes between 3-6 weeks though.
Elliot
Depends how bad the fracture is, usually takes between 3-6 weeks though.Took a about 2-3 weeks me, but then it was my 12th rib and the crack wasn't too bad. Did it while I was working a ski season, got to the point where I could only turn left when skiing down the run so thought it was probably an idea to see the doc. He told me to take a couple of weeks of skiing, and after that I was not too bad
Rebelistic
Mine took about two weeks I think (no more than three) but was probably a fairly minor crack. Just see how it feels and dont push yourself untill you feel comfortable.
NVWOCI WVS
really depends on how much you're riding while they're trying to heal not more than 4-6weeks normally though
BONGO
I broke 2 ribs on 18th August crashing my motorbike. It's almost stopped hurting completely now, but that's been pretty much 8 weeks.

Ali C
I bruised my ribs when I fell 10ft at Bike 05. Took around 2 weeks for me to ride again and another 2 for the pain to go totally
skuzzbucket
i broke 2 on one side in a pub, which took 2-3weeks to stiffen up, did started riding in the garden after about a week in, small moves mostly.and 4 on the otherside after falling 5foot on to a raised sleeper (pow) in a comp took 2months to sort them and the damage lung. but again was riding about 3wks in garden. the best advice would be get a doctors view on the damage have a look at the X-rays yourself as my doc missed 2 of the 4 untill a check up. if you really need to ride find the strongest painkillers you can and grit your teeth cause one wrong move and it will hurt.hope this advice helps and a speedy recovery. streetjibs
i cracked 3 ribs when building, i fell off a plank and fell about 9foot onto a round metal handrail (hands went either side of the rail - landed on my ribstaking the full impact)took about 6-8weeks as best i can remember.... imho dont be in a rush to get back on the bike. as with any injury its better to be 100% confident than 99%sure. Jaffacakes
It's best not to ride. I went to do a gap to front wheel, riding natural my tire slipped out and I landed on my bike a few metres down It does really f**king hurt when you ride though, especially when you tuck up to go to back wheel and catch your ribs.I munched a whole box of painkillers on a plymouth ride a few weeks into it, helped a bit
