Tony Harrison
Well, that kind of squashes the popular misconception that high fuel prices are all down to the government.I think 99.9p is encouraging, but it's not that long ago that it reached a pound, so I don't think it's worth getting too carried away with. I daresay there'll be queues of eager motorists queueing for the pumps this weekend 'before the prices go up again', even though this only equates to a saving of about £5 per tank. But then again, I swear an ever increasing proportion of adults in this country have absolutely f'ck all to do at the weekend besides DIY and getting fat. doopdoopbedoop
DIY and getting fat.isn't that the point of weekends? well, minus the DIY I guess..EDIT: On topic, I'm definitely happy for the decrease, as it means I'm more likely to make it back from soton this weekend! empty tank plus £20 = hopefully far enough on 20 litres instead of 18... lol Edited October 17, 2008 by /JD
Tony Harrison
On the plus side, I might actually break even on petrol claims for work. Currently it's costing me about 1.4p for every mile I do, on account of the fact that typical company fuel rates haven't changed much in years. But hey, it'll go up again fairly soon I'm sure... BenLeacock™
The morisons here are doing if you spend £40 or more on shopping, you get a ticket to get 5p off the petrol, so it brings it down to 94.9 - only lasting till next week though

Captain Scarlet
Yay!, a full tank of petrol for £7 and that will do me for about 150 or miles. =DMy dad still goes on about a story of when he was on an outing with his mates in the 70's, and his mate refused to go petrol station coming up as it was £1 a gallon. Pashley26
Even I can remember petrol being 50p a liter. Haha that made no sense...I can remember when petrol was 50p a liter, and you could just smoke around whatever car you wanted regardless of fuel costs Now fuels the biggest outgoing I can think of Edited October 17, 2008 by Pashley26
