!!()`/D
Hi, after getting my first car today (1980 mk1 ford fiesta) (957cc) ive already considerd some modifications to it, id like something thats is going to make alot of noise (preferably some kind of loud muscle car noise), hard out of a 957cc engine hey? Does anyone know if a cherrybomb exhaust will do this and if they are legal on british roads? Edited October 12, 2008 by !!()`/D
Pashley26
You are aware "Cherry Bomb" are an old school silencer manufacturer, nothing special.http://www.cherrybomb.com/ Yes most of them are legal. But don't do it, it's a Mk1 fiesta ? With a sub 1000cc engine, no matter what exhaust you put on it, it's always going to sound like a 4pot fiesta.957cc is the Valencia engine, so all you'll be able to do is put an air filter and exhaust on it. Theres NOTHING about to make them go faster. So it'll always be "slow"But they look SWEET slammed with minilites. Skoze
Despite posting it three times, Jarrod has a point.Minilites + lowness = awesome on just about everthing that's slightly old.The air filter and exhaust is a good plan too, shouldn't rape you too badly money-wise. Does anyone know if a cherrybomb exhaust will do this and if they are legal on british roads?Leave it standard! Or if you HAVE to do something to it, sort out the rust it will very likely have. Sort out any knocks or rattles it has. Put some Ford wheels on it, like mentioned, rs4 spokes look good on them. DO NOT try and make it loud or like a "muscle car" as its not! Yeah im sure the MOT tester will love that!A car cannot fail an MOT if the air box is drilled! No box on the computer to say anything about air box drilling or modifications! Absolutely nothing they can say! And if they do, ill happily speak to the ministy for you! But Yea, dont try and make it sound loud! If you want it to be loud, then put a new engine in it! Or buy one already done which is registered as a 1L or something! Dont go slapping big exhausts on the back or plastic fantastic body kits! At the end of the day it will be all show no go! And mk1 fessies can look mint with very subtle mods done, dont do anything majour, as theyre rare cars, especially if theyre in good condition! And if they do, ill happily speak to the ministy for you!He was on about drilling a hole in the silencer(i.e backbox or mid silencer) which it can fail for. for a major leak of exhaust gases.or silencer in such a condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the vehicle is clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar vehicle with a silencer in average conditionso basically, if its significantly louder than a standard 1.0 litre fiesta is, it should fail.
