r2wtrials
After a few weeks and several rides i am just about getting the hang of this lark again... nothing special but enjoying it non the less.I can backhop ok and even do some small drop-offs... and a small gap or two!!! After a bit of changing around to see what feels good this is what i have at the moment.2006 Echo Pure, Echo Hifi forks, Tryall cranks, Echo rockring, Hope hub rear with self built and drilled planet-x rim, Hope mini on the front and V's on the back with an RB design booster on heatsink V adaptors and plazmatic pads, Rohloff tensioner.. etc etc. I have a set of Pazzaz Carbon flat bars to try and wondered what length and rise you would recommend for the stem ... i am 5' 11" and prefer a more upright stance (saves the old back, don't you know ) ...now with atomz stem and carbon bars... manuel
I would have said your current set up looks about right ?!?! Are the pazzaz bars the same as those onza wide flat risers ? if so you will need a stem with a lot of rise and alot of spacers underneath the stem to get to near where you are now. which Im guessing you cannot do as you have no spacers above at the mo... the trialtech stems are pretty nice and give a fair bit of rise but im not sure its enough ? r2wtrials
cheers... was thinking on a tad longer stem and say 20 degrees rise which would put it nearly where it is now with the flat bars.
manuel
TRIALTECH STEM20 degrees and 125 long .. ? pretty good I dont think anyone has had any problems with them ?there are a few that length on TB Edited October 8, 2008 by manuel
ben_travis
Definitely the trialtech stem.My opinion, some would say is biased, when in fact dave does not ask for me to ride any products that i didnt want to. I LOVE my trialtech stem. Few of the boys round ecosse have them now. Lovely stems.Should probably be fine for the pazzaz
r2wtrials
Cheers all... doing it on the cheap at the moment as i want to see what they feel like. Obviously if i prefer the risers i have in the end i would have paid out for a new stem i wouldn't use. But knowing the rough idea of length and degree rise from you guys lets me keep an eye out for something cheaper secondhand or whatever.
