Someone who could ride a unicycle, flatland a bmx, then do some trials would be awsome....

If I'm not wrong there was this flatland bmx guy who entered the 30 seconds of fame contest? That was maybe 5 years back, before I got into riding. Might be trials, I dunno.

Hey guys just a thought but it could get trials some airtime, was wondering if anyone fancy entering the show and doing some sort of display.

It would be a way to get trials televised on a well watched tv program ?

What do you guys think ?

you know i was talking bout this to my missus the other day.

maybe we should just flood them with applications of trials riders they'll have no choice but to reconise trials in all it's glory.

or just to bother them.

I definitely think it's worth a try. I'm nowhere near good enough, but if you can get a small group together you should go for it. You've only got to see the response of the crowd and the judges on the video to see how well it went down. They got a standing ovation! Their routine looked quite simplistic, but bringing in the girl at the end gave it the wow factor. Get some good background music and an exciting novelty, on a par with bringing on the girl, and so long as you're at least as good as those guys then I'd be surprised if you didn't get through to the next round at least. It'll never be a winning act of course, but it'd be great exposure!

You don't have to do a dance type thing like in the video that was linked.

I remember watching people doing parkour, they had fairly big obstacles.

If you really want to do something like that I'd speak to people like Andrew Chai, Tom Rankin, Steve Rogers e.t.c.. I'm sure they're sponsors will love that...

Its not about having the "best names" in trials riding, its all about having a nice team, who can ride very very consistantly, and do crowd pleasing tricks. The thinkbikes team are really the guys to step up and represent, its not about doing a 55" sidehop the 20th time its about G-turns, front wheel rolls and stuff that people can appriciate, not inch pinching. And the team has to respect its loyal members. And what do there sponsers have to do with it? You do realise in trials sponsers do basically f**k all? They get free bits, and other parts for trade but thats it, its not like they get a wage! (unless you work for them as well :P)

Cheers Simps - we are thinking along the same lines I thin :) But I think this chap hadn't read the whole thread and was rather responding to the first post. Especially as Steve Roger and Tom Rankin are both Tarty Riders too. LOL.

It's certainly going to take lateral thinking to get through to the next round!

I suppose so.... :P Shall I come down then?? HAHA!

Your saying Adam wouldn't appreciate somebody wearing a tartybikes shirt on TV?

The amount of people that have read my shirt when I'm riding is quite alot. (and I'm not brilliant)

I think the best way to get attention on those on those shows is to hop over people (like posted previously) Yeah...We have seen it before, but how many viewers of a show like that would have seen it before?? I think doing something impressive with a small "fear factor" could get "us" noticed.

Good luck to the think bikes lads anyway :-)

Ps. I still think the web is the best way to get yourself known for example... (Charlie bit my finger) but I suppose that's really hard with some thing like trials... :a
