Either

Work for it yourself and buy it. Your money they can't bitch like i have done with all my bike bits

Be a spoilt lil' brat and get your parents to buy you everything you want

Comprimise and ask for it for birthday + christmas combined

Say that to him then? If there's something second hand and i wont have the money for another week or so, i ask the 'rents to bail me out on special occasions.

"hey dad, this really nice frame is for sale and i'd like to buy it. I don't likie asking too much from you but could you buy it for me and i'll pay you back next week when i get paid?"

The worst he can say is no. (after the no, shut off and nod occasionally if he rambles on)

Or ask said seller to hold it for you, but that doesn't always work hehe.

Buying things with your own hard earned is actually wicked, spesh when you're young.

I love my leeson to bits because in it's current attire, i've paid for 95% of it, which is sweet.

I will hold it back for him.. it's not that he won't have the money it's because hes dads just pretty much bought him that t-mag and he's going to replace it so quickly that hes dad's gonna be annoyed thinking that hes bought it for his son and hes changing the frame so quickly.

I Agree with your old man.

The Bike isnt that Old, Why Not give it a Chance. You wont suddenly Become a better ride just because you have a More expencive bike.

Some of the Best riders Ive seen have Performed at their peak on a shit bike.

Its not the Bike, its the Rider. Why Not concentrate your money on parts of the Bike that Need Upgrading when they fail. Hubs brakes ect.

You could find simply Chaning the stem or gear ratio will completely transform the bike into something you could love.

Yeah i agree with the dude above me. Like there shouldnt be anything wrong with ur frame now, if u just want a new frame then yeah its your money but if u put that money into buying better parts or something then you would have a better bike over all i think.

-OR-

Dads love to do thing with their kids man.

I told my dad i was buying a new frame and he bitched about it for almost 3 months.

After that i told my dad that i was buying a DH bike and i need him to pay pal the money for me and help me build it and he was stoked.

See if u can involve him some way or just show him why you need/want a new frame, just make sure that you dont tell him that the bike he bought u sucks cuz thats a sure fire way to shit him down!!

Ahh didn't realise that. Totally agree with Monsuir Lee.

Just ride it till you improve, upgrade the parts then go for a new frame, it'll be awesome.

T-mags don't ride too badly at all!

Dents don't automatically write a frame off.

As for a 'good' bike, what parts do you currently have? There's not a lot of point having a good frame with awful parts, ruins it completely imo.

Spend your cash upgrading other parts (Y)

but there is nothing else to upgrade apart from the frame.
