Dan6061
My index fingers stick out on both hands. I know it's from riding too much over the years. Seeing as i always have my fingers over the brake levers, I guess they've naturally sit there? So if I hold my hands out, the index fingers will stick out, and the others bend in, as if i'm holding onto my bars... Sad really...Anyone else like it?
Gandalf the Yellow
yep. mine's naturally 'in a curve' but the index does stick out a little more than the others...don't think im ride as much as you though.steve
aener
Yes, but:I know it's from riding too much over the years. If you enjoy it, how can you do it too much?
Pashley26
I'm a drummer and i've got a MASSIVE curve on my little fingers. And when I type and hold a stick or what ever I cant' not poke it out at a stupid angle.
spaceman
My friend says all trials riders have those fingers. I didn't believe him at first and he told me to compare mine to see. I got quite a surprise.

Spider Lad
I think most people's hands will take a similar shape to that naturally anyway. Your hand naturally makes a pincer shape between your index finger and thumb and given that these two are predominantly used to perform most manual tasks you'll notice this position with most peoples hands, rider or othwise. It's hardly evidence of deformation due to excessive riding and certainly not worth bothering other people with. bitemybutt
My index fingers literally have a twist in them (like a spiral), not a huge one but it is noticeable. It's got to be from drumming and bike riding. If you think how hard you pull the braker levers some times, it's a lot of stress to put on your fingers. I also play metal, so I hit the drums pretty hard too. Bring on the arthritis!

georgieporgie
I'm a drummer and i've got a MASSIVE curve on my little fingers. And when I type and hold a stick or what ever I cant' not poke it out at a stupid angle.Yeah, I have the same... although i play traditional so i actually have a huge dent in the side of my thumb! And my fingers stick out like that too
Pashley26
Yeah, I have the same... although i play traditional so i actually have a huge dent in the side of my thumb! And my fingers stick out like that too I've got the thumb dent too ! Also, women have a Curve to there arm. Get a woman to turn the arm over (so there palm and the inside of there elbow face up) and there arms curve out. Mens are predominantly straight This is why Jed dosen't know what I'm on about. He's not actually a drummer....
Mr Motivator
Only your index finger and little finger have their own individual tendants, your ring finger and middle finger join together into one tendant.Could be to do with that? When I put my hands out, my index and little finger poke out more than middle and ring fingers. In the summer, I used to get a tan on the back of my hands and only on the index fingers where I would be riding covering the brakes with one finger and the rest of the fingers under the shade of the bars Looked pretty funny. Z o o !!
My indez finger seems to be fine. my middle finger looks fairly out of place. See the massive bend on it
RobinJI
To be fair if you think about it surely writing would do it loads more than riding. We did it a while ago and a couple of my mates who dont ride's hands did it, along with mates who ride BMX breakless/with one break and there was no difference.
