forteh
If youre struggling for somewhere to mount the tensioner then you could try utilising the bolt that holds the mech hanger on. I used an M4 countersunk allen screw and a nylock nut on the outside, the aluminium bracket is 2-3mm thick and has just enough clearance so that it doesnt scuff the lockring. If you use a thin section stainless bracket (as opposed aluminium) then you would have more clearance on the lockring, you cant guarantee how much room there is going to be between hubs though, I believe a proII is much closer than the king Im now using a couple of half hacksaw blades in a leaf spring arrangement and the chaintension is perfect, no slap and it cant come off
r2wtrials
I have a question... i have a rohloff on mine but fairly lose as i have needed to get the rear wheel out at times. How tight do you guys run the chain... should i shorten the chain so that the tensioner is stretched out under the frame tube reasonably tight or do you run with enough slack to get the wheel out without having to unbolt it or split the chain? N.Wood
Mines super tight, I barely eve take the wheel out anyway. If I do need to, I just unhook the chain from the chainring end and this gives me enough slack to go about taking the wheel out.
basher
One I made! If you sidehop and fail, 8mm spanner, push down, tighten up. Sorted! But its a fixed tensioner and your drivetrain never runs true you get tight and slack spots in chain so if you want good tension it can put strain on the chain on a tight spot.Plus a rohloff style one is harder to do so more of a challenge. Thanks for the measurements. Going to start on the cad drawing for the 3 plates and ill post them up. Might take me a while as im not ust to this new cad i have.
