spaceman
Yes, they're by Cannondale. Not sure if they're still in production. They're really strong and light. Steel steerer. About 100g heavier than the Echo fork?
trials_pimp
Yes they are Amazing Forks.Mine are 12 years old, and Still going strong. They Arent Made Anymore, stopping being made years ago, so it will have to be 2nd hand. They have 1 weak point, which is the Join of the Steerer tube to the Lower Legs. They are bonded together and Have a small Pin in the front. This Join tends to Fail causing the legs to come away from the steerer tube. There are simple things to do to stop this.1) Use a headlock. This is what I have done2) Remove the Pin and Replace it with a bolt that goes all the way through the Forks. There are 2 kinds of Fatty Forks, the Main Difference being in the Disc Mount.Early Forks had a slotted dick mount to allow for adjustment, Later forks were simpley IS disc mounts

Kieran24
Are these the ones? http://www.cycleworld.co.uk/product/6602/C...tty_Rigid_Forks
Tomm
I always thought they were custom, headshock forks with the shock removed??Nah, they were sold as a proper product in their own right. But I think they probably came out of the same machine - after all no one really made alu forks for XC bikes because they're too stiff and uncomfortable. But yeah, Fattys are cool. The only problem is that you'll struggle to find a new set (unless that link is correct), and most old sets will have probably seen a fair bit of use! To be honest, I'd probably just go for some Deng forks these days - cheaper, lighter and probably just as strong. You have to remember that when Fattys came out, they were basically the only strong aluminium rigid fork you could buy. Now there's loads of choice - I mean look how many different ones Tarty does: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/search.php?category_id=
ben_travis
Very good forks, however I would just go to a well known retailer and buy from there, as tomm's link above suggests, there are a very good number of forks out in trials now. Papa Manual
These guys used to stock them, but as mentioned I don't think they're produced any more.
Pashley26
Fatty's rule ! I've had mine from new and they've never given me any grief ! There not heavy, there strong, and there not deng As said, you will be lucky to find a new set. But I saw some in Owens Cycles new about 3 weeks ago with a £149 price tag on them ! - I found this set - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Cannondale-Fatty-R-R...id=p3286.c0.m14Just for a laugh lets watch them and see what they make Edited September 29, 2008 by Pashley26
Matthew_Gibson
NO! there shit. Mine only lasted aout 5 year!!!!Only joking. Light and very strong. Would pay for a new set. but not £
Tony Harrison
My first pair I bought from Autovogue in 1999, and they're still in one piece! As has been said, the steerer can be loosened, but this can be dealt with. For their strength, they're incredibly light. A while back I bought a brand new pair from someone - good ones can be found secondhand if you look. Best buying from an XC rider if you want mint ones though! Tim/Trialsin USA
Cannondale does still make the Fatty fork. It is just not called that. It is equipped on the Tandems. Not available separately, maybe you can ask a dealer to try and buy a replacement/warranty one.
