Julius Czar
does a grind?well yeah but i mean the little holes will scoop the pad up and before you know it they'll be gone
Muel
think you'd need to put a few more holes in the rim to really make it worth while, you've probably saved 10 grams over all...... if that. It's an Onza Hog rim, they come like that. Kieran24
It's an Onza Hog rim, they come like that.I think he was on about the OP's rim with the tiny counter sinking, not even holes.
Captain Scarlet
This is what my brake sounds like and now it has bedded in it is amazing.youtube1) You can't judge how good a brake is by its sound (obviously an audiable honk is the usual good noise, but some people's brakes make no noise at all and are just as good).2) If your using the same pads before you drilled the holes, what is there to bed in? also polyurethane pads are not affected by releasing agents in the same way that disc brake pads are, which is why disc brake pads need to be bed in. will pritchard
I don't see the point in drilling your rim though im pretty sure it wont save that much weight? ^o) jwWill x Edited September 22, 2008 by will pritchard

forteh
Congratulations, you saved 0.05g with each hole, about 200 holes on the wheel and youve got a whopping 9-10g saving, awesome.
TomSpoke
So....Does drilling your rim make your brake much better?Tom
Jitters
Mind you, I'm no engineer, but wouldn't removing surface area for the brake pads to make contact provide less braking power overall? Granted, the holes are rather small, so I guess not. Maybe it keeps the rims cooler like a good cross drilled rotor? I dunno. If it works...Can you please space them more evenly on the next rim? I think that would look much nicer! Now if they made your rims whistle while you rode about, I'd be all over that!whhhiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr........
