JonMack
That's the speed of your network connection, not your internet connection.
JT!
That's what speedtest tells you.I don't think so. I thought the actual transfer rate was significantly slower than what it's connected at?Besides, on the speedtest you get different results each time depending on what server you pick and what other people are up to on other computers.I'm on XP too. JonMack
Turn off all the other computers, connect yourself to the modem directly, turn off everything that uses the internet except your browser, then test 3 times. Average it, and that will be the most accurate way of doing it.
tris
Mine says:3481 kbp/s download380 kbp/s uploadon speedtest. That any good????
Hendrix
Mine said roughly 5mbps, which on wireless is actually very good. Extremely good considering the amount of other people on the network!Upload was only 0.8mbps, which is a huge let down. But heck, don't expect anything fast. But i don't want kick people off their comps just because i'm curious. The speedtest gave me 3.4Mb so i guess that's roughly about what it's at so that's all i need to know really. JonMack
Surely you could have done that without starting this thread then?
JT!
Surely you could have done that without starting this thread then?I suppose so but it would mean messing about with cables and disconnecting everybody off their computers and then installing the modem onto my computer, and then having to put it all back afterwards hoping it'll still work which it probably won't.Or i could just ask on here where there's people like you to answer my questions. Dr. Nick Riviera
I think he meant why couldn't you just do the speedtest, like you did.
JT!
Oh, because i wanted to know what is was exactly really. Looking into changing packages and that.
