Ben John-Hynes
One full crank rotation is the best way to learn,So roll up to the wall with your strong foot forward (leaving a gap between you and the wall obviously)Give one hard full rotation and try to tap your front wheel as high up the wall as possibleThen with the momentum from the pedal and the tap lunge your weight forward to move you onto the wallAnd when you feel like you're on top, move your weight back slightly to keep it on the rear wheel.Tip: It's hard to tap small walls. Greetings
Recently learned to do them properly after about 4 years of incorrect tapping. The key is to hit the front wheel against the wall as you've finished pedalling and are already jumping upwards. Some other really useful advice from Kennard: just twat it. JonMack
Tuck your legs into your ass and really lean back and extend your arms so you get your bike up under you as much as you can. That's the way I improved

JonMack
If you're only doing 6 bricks you don't need to tap, just go straight to backwheel.
SkiLLz
I don't know what to call it lol so many people give it so many different names but i'll try to explain it. Basically i do a full pedal with my bad foot then bring my strong foot round and kick up like hell lift up on the bars and lean back and hopefully land on my rear wheel without falling off But i can only get upto 6 bricks on my rear, i could probably do more if i went to both. ti-mig-guy
Good luck, wish I had advice but this has kicked me in the ass. Sounds like you want to do a peddle up for a while to build confidence. Tap may equal death in my opinion.

Pedal hop is the same as a pedal kick (hopping forwards on the back wheel) and a tap is when you hit the front wheel into the object then launch up onto the back wheel. Aaron.Tottman
I can do like 6 bricks and keep the front end up but on video it looks really small and crap but i cant seem to get any higher anyone got tips please?sorry dude didn't read the post properly.theres one move that i learned when doing that sort of hight.try smashing the BACK wheel into the bottom of the hopup.as long as your front wheel is over the top of the wall you should just roll onto the wall. keep the bars heigh to do it to backwheel!!!on just hopping straight up it..... when your peddling to the obstical, stay over the back wheel and really close to the bike, on the very last quater peddle turn jump UP rather than pushing your hips to the handle bars, and bring the bars to your hips.your front wheel should be over the obstical then through the bars forward and bend you knees.I can do ruffly 12 bricks, 40inch. using this method.i wouldn't try front taps on anything under 35inch the front wheel has more of a chance of just hitting the wall and going down and you over the bars.hope this helps more than my other post!!!!!!!!!!!!AaRoN

That way, as you hit the wall, the momentum will send you up. If it's less than 45deg, you will more likely go forwards, unless you are skilled.
