Tony Harrison
Firefox -> ChromeCould this be the new Chris King -> Hope Pro II?I'm all for trying these new products out, but there's no way I'm going to base my judgement on a beta release. I like to think that Google will put something out that's reasonably good, but at the same time I'm happy enough with Firefox, so they'll have to go some way to beat that. Also, it's another browser-load of quirks for developers to deal with. I'm having enough trouble aligning CSS on a website I'm doing for Safari, Opera, IE and Firefox... Revolver
Is that the car with the huge black tripod-ish thing on the top of it? It caught me just as I was leaving my flat at around 6am a few days ago. Although in hindsight, it didn't have any Google advertising on it, hmm.None the less, the San Francisco thing's insane You'll be able to see yourself somewhere in google earth!Remember where you were lol
JT!
So, how's everyone getting on with this?Is it only me that it crashes when watching vids?
Muel
Ive noticed something gay...you cannot close a tab you have a download running from - it kills the download - I prefer FF's approach a separate download box for all downloads. means you cant close it down unless all the downloads are finished.Theres a super cool add-on for firefox called Download Statusbar, and instead of the extra box you just get a little loading bar thingy in the status bar for each download. If you close FireFox then it can either carry on next time you open, or it can be set to carry on with your downloads in the original sownload box.I've got FF3, IE6, Chrome, Opera and Safari on this computer for website testing, work have got IE7, so I can check for differences between IE6 and IE7, it's surprising how many there are!I've hardly used Chrome, I didn't like it when I did try it, I'm used to FireFox with all my Add-Ons.Firefox -> ChromeCould this be the new Chris King -> Hope Pro II?I'm all for trying these new products out, but there's no way I'm going to base my judgement on a beta release. I sorted mine by adding in a section of code at the bottom that only IE reads.
Rich J
Just downloaded it. Immediately didnt like it. Tried to copy all my settings from firefox which i thought seemed handy, except it didn't. Said it did but nothing. Scroll only worked going downwards and very fast at that. Layout looks ok though and did load pretty fast..
RobinJI
Works great for me for basic stuff like forums, but try anything slightly complicated and it seems to cock up. It wont let me have two tabs of youtube open at the same time, or flash player crash's, and it often freezes up when I exit full screen applications. Other than that its been good. And there's no signs of changing that any time soon. As for the websites, isn't chrome based on the same software as Safari (Webkit)? So it should render the same. Tamness™
I use safari, or did. and I've found that Chrome does render faster than safari and it also seems to start up faster.Tam
JonMack
I'm using webkit as it's faster than anything else available.
