Muel
The only difference is the colour, the lever blade and the TI bolts, (I think). I'd say they are definately worth it, I've got carbon blades and they are absolutely brilliant, much more comfy than the 06 or 07/08 levers.I'd also say it desn't matter if you fall off a lot, the newer 07/08 lever blades bend pretty easily, I'd be surprised if you managed to snap the carbon lever blades, they are carbon fibre after all. I've got a Mono Trial on the rear of my mod and my stock, they work brilliantly, you can't compare them to an XT, XTs were designed for XC, so they need to give lots of modulation and power, but bite and hold doesn't really matter. Aaron.Tottman
Fair shout on the shimano stuff.my mono trials 06 i think...snapped just after the pivot bolt on the lever!!!!to be fair though it took a f**kin beating before hand!!! Jake Beach
They are both the same I think except from the tarty one is black and has tartybikes etched onto it.
javzi monty
what is better on the rear Hope Mono Trial '08 or hope tarty trialthere the exact same dont get a hope get a avid bb7 much more powerful as hopes go all spongey
austen
there the exact same dont get a hope get a avid bb7 much more powerful as hopes go all spongeyNo. Hopes go "all spongey" when its time for a re - bleed like every other hydrolic brake on the market, and i've heard that bb7's work amazing on the front but are pretty poor on the back. So defenetly don't listen to him saying there much more powerful, when in reality there not at all.As For your question there the eact same part from the small things that Muel said.Austen x
Muel
there the exact same dont get a hope get a avid bb7 much more powerful as hopes go all spongeyHopes "go all spongey" when they have been set up incorrectly, to get the beast out of them they need the mounts facing and need to be shimmed out perfectly. They generally shouldn't need rebleeding because any bubbles that are in the system will slowly rise through the system when you ride the bike, unless there is a leak at the bottom.I've never used a BB7 with the bite or holding power of a well set up Hope, but they seem like the best alternative to me.Have you thought about a Magura Louise? My brothers has a lot more hold than any of my Hopes, but it's a 180mm rotor on a Mod. The downside for me is that it feels really wooden at the lever, and has almost no modulation at all, so on the rear it should be amazing.
