Thaddeuslionheart
Hi I have a brand new magaura louise front disc brake which was already set up when I bought the bike but I have had a few problems with it. The guys in the shop must'v handled the front disc with greasy fingers and the brake squeaked like hell. The rims were covered in black grease. I followed the advice I was given and took out the pads baked them in the oven for a few minutes to evaporate the oil and I cleaned everything else up. So Today I took the bike out for a test drive and I noticed the pads rubbing on the disc. I don;t remember if this was happening before and I wanted to ask is this normal? Or have I mucked something up? Also the brakes are not really responding sharply. Is this because the pads will need to be worn in again? RossMcd
Have you put the pads in the right sides? One may have more wear than the other and that may cuase it to rub.
will pritchard
this usually works, undo the clamps and NOT the fluid nut and then squeeze the lever and then tighten it up Will x

I guess its not normal for them to rub then?
Simpson
Its f**ked take it back to the shop and demand a new wheel, fork and brake, and if they fail to oblige persue legal actionon a more sensible note, a light "whisp" of rub is totally normal on a disk brake, if its anything more serious you may need to adjust your spacing
