Looking To Sponsor A Few Riders.

I don't think you get what i'm saying.

I want to help riders keep there bike clean, like the above comment, i'm not looking to give a bike away nothing fancy, just something small i'm sure we'll both benefit from.

Boy racers won't give me the image i really want if i'm honest.

With my name being clean wheels it will suit the sport, it's not out of the ordinary.

It has some relevance, as suppose to if i was a builder looking to sponsor riders, get me?

I get exactly what your saying, its not hard. I don't think you got what I was saying though ;)

I mean, of all the biking disciplines surely choosing the one where the bikes get dented and scratched all up to hell and that barely ever get mud on them isn't the best way of advertising your product... which IS universal as far as your saying. If someone saw your sticker on a trials bike thats been well used (you are looking for good riders who are still riding) then they're going to see the dents and scratches and associate it as not being clean. I know scratches don't equate to cleanliness but for the general public thats the kind of association they'd go for. Boy racers was just an example, change it to F1 drivers or rally drivers if you want... its still the same point.

You'd be far better signing up to some downhill forums and things as well and suggesting the same thing to them. The bikes get far dirtier and if you can provide a cleaning product that you just spray on and rinse off (they clean them fast between runs) without affecting the disc brakes performance then i'm sure there'd be some decent riders who'd do that for you. It would look better having really mucky bike sports like DH and XC in your group as well as trials rather than just trials.

Also have you decided on how its going to be applied? Spray? Cloth? If its a spray its undoubtedly going to be hitting rims and discs etc, so have you checked to make sure theres no long term effects on braking setups and bearing seals? If its applied by a cloth is it quick to do so or are we gonna be looking at spending over an hour cleaning bikes with it? What happens if some of the chemical isn't fully rubbed off by the user and its sat on the bottom bracket seals/bearings? You need to make sure its 100% okay for its intended use, which you may or may not have done... just thought i'd try and give some helpful advice.

yeah i've gotta say i agree with krisboats on this one but on the flip side i see your point of view and motivation for wanting to do it, but imo sponser an enduro rider, i could really do with a decent cleaning product for my yz just came in from washing in and it's not as clean as i'd like but it's hard if you leave it for a day without cleaning.

I don't know what the problem is, my bike gets muddy every time I ride it, but I can see a bigger problem here, I never touch my bike with cleaning products anyway, just hose it with water, because if you get any of the soap on the rotors, your brakes will turn to shit!

If you ran twin rim brakes this problem could be avoided, but the only people I know to do that are TGS/Street riders who wouldn't get their bikes muddy anyway.

Anyway, whats the problem, all you have to do is put a logo on your bike and on your videos, and then you get some free cleaning concentrate stuff? Sounds like a good deal to me...

If you fancy sponsering someone who ride both biketrials and motorbike trials, and who is equally bad at both then give me a shout.

Not all rider's just ride street. There are loads of rider's that ride comps, and in most cases their bike can be as filthy as a downhill or x-country bike.

I know, but they ARE a minority. With recent topics about the numbers of people who actually turn up to competitions being at an all time low as well i just didn't include it. Theres also the fact that as its a universal cleaner he'll be wanting the best coverage he can get, the trials comp scene is pretty small in comparison to street riding and once the word gets round about the cleaning product its not going to be effective marketing as there isn't a massive flux of people coming and going from the comp scene, its all pretty static turnout-wise.

If he were to get in contact with DH/XC riders though and get some onboard it'll be much better publicity for him though as they get mucky VERY frequently at downhill events and tracks where quite a few spectators go to watch. Unfortunately, the trials comps are nowhere near that kind of level of publicity.

Well, Luke lives in mid-Wales, so He is in an ideal loaction to promote it at local bike parks as well as rider's promotiong it at races, such as the national series.

If you ask me, you need some motorbike trials riders, even muc-off struggles to shift some of the shit that our bikes get coated in. That's when I actually ride mine, which is like 3 times a year.

hehe get someone who rides mod, stock, moto trials, enduro, and frequently has to wash his dad's bikes off... (like me) :-

i'd love to be able to say i was sponsered at anything really, but unfortunatly nothing comes easy =]

anyway, tell us more about this cleaning product...

You could be discribing me there, apart from I don't ride enduro.

The nearest "Bike park" is about an hour and a half away from here :P

Similarly for the nationals...

Luke - you tried talking to the guys at either Cwmthig Hill (If they're still running the Wednesday night motocross events?), or any of the guys who are local-based and are going to be riding in the 2 or 3-day Enduro event that rolls through town every year? There's a pretty decent motocross scene around Mid Wales, so it seems like you'd be better off trying to get involved and sponsor people there, as they're local, and are more likely to want to have their bikes/cars/transporters/mobile homes valeted than random trials riders who might spot the sticker on another rider's bike?

say for example if you sponsored me =] you'd have trials moto trials enduro covered since i'm at almost every wor event (like as many as i can afford) at pritty much every moto trials week in week out with practice's inbetween, you'd have stickers on my dads van and his bike's so you've got offroad and onroad covered plus if i ever did get sponsored i'd probably die laughing and come back as ghost to brag about it.

so then you've got north wales and the northwest covered (Y) haha

This isn't a dig at your offer or any form of backhanded comment, before any quote's me and flames me for being an un-supportive fanny or whatever you'd call me.

When I looked on your site, you only really venture round mid-Wales to clean Cars, boats, etc. Surely someone in Hull promoting a company that operates solely in Wales (an a small area in the country) is a waste of time/resources/products? You might see it from a totally different angle, but to me it kinda defeats the object of advertising country-wide..

Thats Exactly, what I said. Although maybe he could sell his cleaning formuler and send it off to other parts of the country, If it really is your own.

Oh haven't read all of the topic, just had a quick look through.

IMO: I'd sponser some riders around your area, for bussiness purposes, but if you want to be a really friendly guy and just help someone out and not get anything in return, then sponser others. (JUST MY OPINION BEFORE I GET KILLED FOR IT)
